it's honestly kind of weird that supermarkets have a separate person just to bag your groceries for you, when you could easily just do that yourself as a customer.

Ireland doesn't have anyone bagging groceries. You always have to do that yourself. It's never been an issue.

Except sometimes they have kids from a local school doing the bagging thing with a big bucket for you to drop a few coins into for a charity. Then I'm always "listen kid, you'll get the money regardless, but you know poo poo about bagging so let me handle it".

whats the accepted correct procedure for drinking water while wearing a mask? like which part do you touch to get it off your mouth hole for a min

or do you manage to not drink water the entire shift or do you use several masks per shift

At least at my NY hospital, the guidelines are that we get 1 N95 mask to use for an indefinite amount of time. Basically until they break or are "visibly soiled," whatever the gently caress that means. We put paper masks over those any time we enter a COVID room, as some kind of voodoo. We throw the paper masks out after exiting the room. We put our N95s into a brown paper bag, to keep them safe and also to let them breathe.

The utter Catch-22 bullshit insanity of that last paragraph is not lost on me.

So long as there's a door between you and the COVID patient, you can just wear the paper masks. When the ED got overrun, it became a 24/7 N95 hot zone.

At least for the residents, we're more cavalier so we take off our masks in the call room. It's the only location that really feels safe in the hospital, so we clean it regularly and pretend to be normal there. There's all you can drink H2O in the call room.

The dozen or so hospitalists are wearing paper masks at their computer stations, sitting elbow to elbow.

My biggest pet peeve is I'm seeing tons of people wearing N95s on, but I'm certain a good percentage of them are removing them after arriving home with filthy, COVID coated hands.

Just wash your hands before and after any time you head outside. Don't touch your infection holes. A paper mask vs an N95 doesn't really matter so long as you're not spending 5 minutes next to a person with COVID.
