Somebody is going to take Herbert in the Top 10 and it's going to be hilarious.

I hope it's the Chargers.

I heard somewhere that their 1 to 600 odds being given by Vegas that Love goes before Herbert and I kind of want to throw a fiver against that.

Eh, I don't really see it. When I watched him play he didn't look confident in what he was seeing if his primary read wasn't open and I don't think he can move around in the pocket well enough to compensate for that.

Maybe he gets a lot better from NFL coaching, but looks like a big yikes from a Top 10 selection perspective.

I wonder how much all the McGinn articles sway GMs towards or against players, especially in a year where there is less information and where they aren't all rubbing shoulders with each other at Pro Days. Like straight up calling Henderson Justin Gilbert 2.0 is some pretty direct stuff. I assume there is some bullshit in there but a lot of it seems like pretty legit criticism.

I’m so scared because this really kinda lines up with so many things and wow. I really wonder if they simply don’t trust the QBs this year or if they really think they can coach Love up after getting him at 26

A year ago it was approximately 50:1 given for a parlay on the Browns and Bears meeting in the Super Bowl.

I'm sure casinos are desperate for gamblers to get involved but those odds ain't making sense.

I think the Chiefs should go Offense heavy and just stick with scoring more points than the other team.

Swift, Mims/Raegor/Mims/Aiyuk, Okwuegbunam in the 3rd, take some random MLB in the 4th and draft a fat guy to play Guard with the last pick.

Grade: A+

I'd add take Claypool as a second TE as well. 60 a game, try to keep up.

You guys are forgetting the law of diminishing returns. I think a strong pass rush that can pin their ears back with a Mahomes built lead would help the Chiefs win a lot more games than a strong 4th option at receiver.

I think he's saying that they would use OTHER picks to get pick 3 and stick at pick 5? Like maybe a later first rounder and a future first and something else? It's confusingly worded

He’s saying Miami could use some combo of 18, 26 and ??? to get to 3 while keeping pick 5.

Nah. Defense is pretty overrated in the current NFL.

They were a stupid hand away from pulling it off the prior year if Dee Ford had any idea of how a Line of Scrimmage works and that was around an all-time bad Defense.

Defense isn't overrated, it's just less sticky. It seems that it's harder to field a good defense year in and year out than it is to field a great offense. I forget if it was PFF or who that didn't an analysis of that but the evidence was pretty convincing. I think's it's because a solid defense really requires no weak points while a good offense can really thrive with just a couple phenomenal players.

Eh, the pass rush is still mostly fine (although way worse than 2018). But I suppose part of that is the fear of Mahomes/the offense even if the Chiefs aren't ahead in any particular game, so it could always get better. And I surely wouldn't mind it if the right guy dropped.

I think it's possible the Chiefs go WR anyway because great class and also Watkins is probably gone after this year? Better to fill a hole you know is coming the year beforehand.

Veach will not be able to help himself if someone he loves drops to say, 23. He's gonna trade up, it's just who he is.

kiimo
Jul 24, 2003

Ruggs is a candidate.

And yeah next draft being not so great for receiver and probably losing both Sammy and Robinson might as well load up now.

Personally I'd rather have Murray than a WR but I know that might be a pipe dream and LB isn't worth trading up for.

That was more of a joke because I don't want any reasons to prevent Patrick Mahomes from scoring 70 points a game, but in theory they could use a WR to play in Watkins spot from around Week 2 until the playoffs begin and RB is an issue for them. A back up Tight End would be pure luxury though.

The Defense kept every starter except for Ragland and Fuller, which doesn't even matter because he was replaced by Fulton who is better a corner and they will get Thornhill back who is a better Safety. They do need to find a MLB, but I don't really feel they want to spend high to fill the spot.

I think the Dolphins are just using whatever plausible deniability they can throw out at this point to trade up to #3 for Tua while keeping other teams from starting a bidding war. Moving up for one of four potential unnamed OTs is about as innocuous a cover as you can get for doing so, and isn't likely to trigger anyone on the face of it.

Now you've got the Chargers or whoever else who could hypothetically jump in a bidding for Tua at #3 wondering if they might essentially be bidding against themselves so to speak for the player and cashing like their whole first day in a move they might not have had to make.

The general logic is that the Cardinals are going to draft a tackle.

But that offense could be extremely spooky/skerry if they drafted someone like Jeudy or Lamb or Ruggs.

Kyler throwing to Fitz, Nuk, Kirk and any one of those three could be devestating.

Wait a minute. Uh if the Dolphins are trying to move up to 3 AND KEEP 5 then they are going to pay a boatload of picks to Detroit. And that makes me wonder if Detroit is getting into the Trevor Lawrence Sweepstakes
