EasyGIS / egis Super basic application that lets you drag in shapefiles and look at them. https://www.easygisdotnet.com/Products.aspx Kitty Not sure if this is that niche, but it's a fork of putty with some QOL features added. http://www.9bis.net/kitty/ Throttle Stop Play with your CPU power settings. Mainly undervolt it and increase SST. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop/ CSVed Open a CSV and perform operations without choking Excel https://csved.sjfrancke.nl/ H2TestW Write files to the whole of a flash drive to check read/write speed and that it's not fake size. (Is that still a thing?) https://www.heise.de/download/product/h2testw-50539

I really like xnviewmp it's a image viewing software that's cross compatible with osx/windows (something I sadly need). It's able to very easily load tons of photos. I also use pureref it's free (you just have to set the price to 0) and is the only app I found that lets you just place a ton of images on a board. If anyone knows any image viewer alternatives (I'm open to even shell commands lol) let me know.

I really like Gyazo for screenshots, just draw a box and it uploads it to a website opens it in yr browser and you can link it to people. Also its not very obscure i dont think but KeePass for storing your passwords so you dont lock yrself out of stuff or have a dodgy .txt on your desktop, its not the fanciest solution for this out there but its free and ive used it for years. Oh i also use the Vivaldi browser, its fine, its basically just chrome with a few goofy extra features you'll either like or never use, i really like their side bar that you can store a website in, it works so well thanks to every site having a mobile version these days and working well in a very compressed area

I recently discovered SuperF4 which is something I've been missing my entire life. It makes Alt-F4 do what it's supposed to do and close the dang program. No longer do I have to futz around if a game crashes in full screen mode trying to get the task manager up, I can just hit Ctrl-Alt-F4 and it ends the process immediately.

The color pallet looks hyperfucked to anyone who doesn't already use it, so there has to be a period of "Everything I'm watching and playing has the color grading of The Big Lebowski and the Mexico scenes from Traffic, but I'm gonna power through until I force myself to like it" before the addiction sets in.

A billion years ago (like Windows 3.1 and Windows95 days) there was a simple image editing utility called LView Pro. I can't remember where I got it, and I think I was using a free version of it. But eventually it wouldn't run on newer Windows OSs and I still miss it. I'm sure modern image editing programs can let you do so much more, but that's the problem--I haven't ever found a free basic editor that wasn't a PITA to learn and use.
