To answer the question inadvertedly asked by the Freeper when they brought up Sweden, the issue is twofold:
Yes, Sweden isn't entirely swamped with Corona cases, but it isn't doing perfectly either. And the reason its doing ok is because while people aren't being forced into lockdown specifically in a lot of cases, there were strict guidelines from the government and people chose to follow them because that's just the norm.
Sweden's economy might technically be open but people are barely going out to any restaurants and lots of gathering-places have been closed.
Stockholm is suffering, but it is partially due to population density and partially due to having its healthcare slashed by, you guessed it, privatization.

Regarding forcing movie theaters to open: After a certain point there will be nothing to watch anyway because no new movies are getting made.

In general, you need to look at where the outbreak is spread in addition to population density. The worst of it in the US is in New York City, because that's the densest city in the country and the reliance on mass transit and walking everywhere for the majority of the population means an infected person could be spreading it to dozens or hundreds of people a day. Other states have their cases scattered across a much larger area or concentrated in their own urban centers while the countryside remains unaffected. Italy got hit in a densely populated area that had tons of people who were part of the most at-risk population, which led to a giant surge in deaths that immediately overwhelmed their healthcare system.

Sorry for the vanity, but I am concerned, I work in the hospitality industry, always have. There have always been highs and lows, but this is the low of lows.
With the government mandate of social distancing, I'm afraid that there will be no big gatherings,such as wedding receptions, proms, family reuions, company meetings, etc in the future.
