You got a *nice* island! Even your residents seem thematically appropriate :captainpop: How long did *that* take? And... I swear some of the audio beats seemed different too; some mechanic I'm not aware of?

Thanks for opening up; I got the pansies I needed.

Thanks for visiting! 5 of my 8 villagers came from amiibos, so that was the easy part (Sprinkle, Mint, and Angus are random additions). Growing all the black roses took forever though; even with my plot of ~20 roses up north, I only get a couple roses a day so that was a lot of time travel back and forth.

Not sure about the audio beats, unless you mean the island tune (which is This Is Halloween).

So how do you get rid of flowers? When I grab them I just grab the flower part but the root stays.

You just can't have them clumped together. If they're 'tastefully' applied it's fine.

No it's not a dumb game for babies, just the villagers themselves are dumb babies and I rule over then with an iron fist.

He will be packing up tomorrow, that’s when people can invite him to their island. The day after that he will be gone.

Caveat: if a villager is forced out via an Amiibo camper they will go straight packing that same day, gone the next.

So I've seen a lot of these cool spinning wheel things in people's town recently, and since the pride and joy of my island is my carnival/theme park, they'd be the perfect addition to my island.

Would any kind goons be willing to give me any spare wheels/let me quickly pick up and drop them so I can add them to my catalog?

What are the odds?
So if I already have 10 villagers, what's the purpose of randoms showing up at the campsite?

Does that means someone's gearing up to leave?

Every time I have seen a villager with a thought bubble, a conversation only results in something unrelated to moving out - changing a catchphrase, offering to sell me an item, etc.

If they offer to move in, they'll ask specifically to take the place of one of your current villagers (you don't get to pick which one, though). You can turn them down but if you want them to move in they'll only do so if you let them replace the person they ask to negotiate with.

Campsite villagers are just friends to look at and bum free stuff of if you win a 1/4 roll of the dice (usually)

They show up with absolutely no rhyme or reason and it's completely random. If you talk to them enough they'll start asking if you want to sacrifice a villager for them to move in and you don't get to pick who.

If you talk to the camper enough they’ll move in, but they’ll choose a random current resident to oust in the process. You can maybe quit before it saves and try again to get a different choice but maybe they patched that, I dunno.

The thought bubble conversations are usually what you described but occasionally it will be about leaving. I’ve only had it happen once so far.

Yess, third Nook Mile Ticket got me an island with Marina on it. Always wanted an Octopus. Now I've gotta catch one and give it to her - I gave Hamphry a hamster and he didn't react much but did display it.

It's a lot of "normal" villagers for me though. I already have Sandy and Megan. Ideally I'd want a "sisterly" villager because I'm trying to boot the one I have (Flo) but a) that's not how the RNG worked out and b) there are actually kinda a dearth of "sisterly" villagers who are cool species or have cool gimmicks.

edit: Doesn't look like you can catch Octopuses in New Horizions, huh? Well, I'll settle for gifting her a squid I guess.

Notes about Redd's Treasure Trawler (for those unlocking it soon):

1) There are two furniture items for sale each time, with unlimited quantities. It looks like it pulls from the same group of items that Nook's does, but I could be wrong.
2) There are 4 art pieces for sale each time
3) Each person can only buy ONE art piece per day
4) Visitors can buy art from your ship (so be sure to grab what you want first before opening your gates)
5) Art is mailed to you the next day
6) There can be more than 1 genuine art piece for sale. I don't know yet if all 4 can ever be fake.
7) All art costs 4,980 bells.

The fakes are kind of hard to spot without a guide (or an art degree), and apparently there are multiple versions for some fakes.

I feel like I wasted my chance to pick villagers since I pretty much just grabbed whatever randos I ran into in order to progress the town quests. I've had one additional campsite visitor and two villagers randomly asking to move, and that's it. I almost want to start over in order to reroll for villagers but I don't want to lose a month's worth of progress. Sucks that you can't have multiple islands on one switch.
I guess it's always been a random chance of villagers to make it more special for each player, but it sucks that there's hundreds of villagers out there you can't interact with. It would be cool to have like a catalog of all the villagers you've met, even on other people's islands.

Again a very likpatous story
Finding any town tunes related to Rider or Sentai is an exercise in futility it seems, but I did find a good enough version of the chorus from Life is SHOW TIME (Wizard's theme song) that I just went with that, since it was either that or kinda meh versions of Ex-Aid or W's themes, not even a single Sentai theme that I could find.

Also due to my island's name I guess I'm required to get the Monster Statue and build the Robot Hero...

I'm 99% sure it has to be real since that piece of art is given to Blathers who then uses it to open up the art exhibit.
