Is Jacobin in the "everyone is working class" school of class analysis? One can get to pretty ugly places if one can't distinguish between people who are getting agitated because they can't afford basic comforts and people who are getting agitated because they might lose privileges above the former group that they consider well deserved. Seriously, it's pretty hard for actual proles to integrate into an astroturfed right-wing protest because most of those fuckers are mad because they're afraid of becoming like who they despise, like them.

Peanut President posted:"the guys waving rebel flags and calling governors (even republican ones) commumarxists because they want to buy lawn seeds are allies" thats not the point, the point is that the obviously astro-turfed protests are horseshit, but if people aren't given help and support soon there will be a lot of disaffected people who only see one group talking about their problems its a microcosm of 2016, and a blueprint for the gop going forward. the democrats won't actually offer people solutions, and the republicans will pretend to, and get mass support by doing this poo poo. the conclusion of the article is that progressive movements need to create a structure to present the coming wave of destitute people a third option, not allying with the death cultists

jacobin's editorial line seems perfectly aimed at trying to draw liberals in with headlines and then going in a different direction with the article. if you're a stage 3 communist or above, it can be confusing

There is a kernel of truth/materialism to the protests, people are increasingly desperate but are not only is opening stores going to kill or maim untold numbers, it will do little to help their economic plight. That said, it may help investors who want to at least create an "aura of positivity" in the stock market. Also, Jacobin is still garbage like 99% of any English language publication.
