Internet leftists bigging up Iran as a military power until we saw them blow up a civilian airline should emphasize that while the US army is poo poo, it's still less poo poo than any other military in the world.

The conventional Chinese military is probably even more toothless than Iran given how little combat experience they have.

LMAO if you're going to stan for the US then "number of civilian airliners mistakenly shot down over Iran" probably isn't the stat you want to be bragging about. Maybe it's something innate to the inscrutable culture of the Americansthat makes them lust for the blood of innocent brown people?

"Experience" amongst the lower ranks isn't super useful, technology and training is though. The inexperienced US army did just fine against the most battle hardened army in the world in 1991. Senior leadership experience turned out to be useful since most of the Senior US leaders had fought in Vietnam. Most of the recent senior Chinese leadership did too.

Yep there's been concern about it for a long time and it periodically makes headlines when there's some new study saying the same thing.

You also can't realistically force people to lose large amounts of weight very quickly; imagine the backlash at military run camps of thousands of overweight people forced to do physical labor and run a serious calorie deficit. It would... not look good. Also you can only lose so much weight so fast safely.

Stuff like that is blamed for them having trouble meeting recruiting numbers currently, but none of that matters if you actually need to enact conscription for example.

Oh, right. But not a real issue, in that if recruitment ever went below what was needed, it could be ignored without negative effect.

The issue with North Korea is that it’s an incredibly poor and destitute country, if China wants a more effective buffer state between them and the American-led south they need to literally drag that country into the modern age and make it a place that isn’t on the verge of total famine and collapse. The North Korean regime really mishandled the economy and the country in its bid to stay in control and needlessly made its people live 50 years behind everyone else when China can probably institute a more advanced authoritarian state that at least delivers a modern life and services to its people.

What happens in South Korea is out of China’s hands, what happens in the North is very much in their realm of possibility to create a market vassal state.

stephenthinkpad

^^ my point was if South Korea is China friendly, N Korea doesn't have a lot of wiggling room in the geopolitic chess board. China doesn't have to worry about Kim dying and whoever win the palace struggle. Plus whoever come out on top will be a hardliner anyway.

North Korea opening up and reform the market can benefit their people greatly, but then NK will have to join the global market and supply chain partially and have to give up on freedom of saber rattling with their nuclear missile tests anytime they want.

I still don't believe it, but if the rumor of little fat Kim turning vegetable is true, all I want to say is 2020 is off the loving chart.

HELL SERPENT
Lipstick Apathy

quote:

The cards have now been laid bare: China and elements in the PH government and society have come out of the shadows with their youtube propaganda. Open our minds and let the facts calmly yet firmly sink in: WE ARE AT WAR.

The present certainties: WE ARE AT WAR. Make no mistake or doubt about that.

In this period of our lives, the intention of China is clear: take the Philippine islands by propaganda, domination, or force. Do not assume that China does not have escalation options on the table. This is the country that does not even respect its citizens.

It is also clear, that many of our supposed countrymen have sold their souls to the CCP. This deal with the fiends is absolutely not limited to certain sectors of society, and goes all throughout the different social classes of the Philippines. Rich or poor, middle class or working class, government or private citizen; there are traitors among them. There is also no Left or Right here: some Right wing folks have sided with the CCP, and not all Lefties are in league with China.

Let this be clear: there ARE many Lefties in league with China, but being Left doesn't make one pro-China. Many Lefties are aligned with the Western Socialists, who see China as a compromiser of socialist values. Yet I will not white-wash it -- many Filipino Leftists are Pro-China due to ideology.

The Right wing traitors are no different from the Ilustrados who sold themselves to the Americans during the Filipino-American War. They have sold themselves again for personal gain.

Other certainties that we have is that many Filipinos are anti-China irrespective of political colors.

Here's a list of factors that are clearly true, and are factors in this current conflict:
- the lockdown has prevented movement among most of the regular citizens, leaving the net as our only way of being a connected society
- food distribution problems is causing a divide among the social classes, creating more gaps between Filipinos
- The Coronavirus is an undiscriminating threat to all Filipinos.
- Many Filipinos may be against China, but almost every Filipino is also against each other.
- We are under psychological attack, and most of our people are defenseless against this due to the Coronavirus threat, lack of mental defenses against psychological attacks, and food distribution problems, plus the mental burden of being confined to their homes.
- The AFP and the PNP aren't exactly on friendly terms with each other.
- Most of the Executive Department is in China's hands, while our Houses are not. The Judiciary is silent due to Executive control.
- We cannot rely on our media not to broadcast pro-China messages
- The government is losing money due to a dead PH economy. If they are getting money then we know where it is coming from.
- The CCP does not care; LET THAT SINK IN. THEY WILL SACRIFICE ALL OF HUMANITY TO KEEP THE CCP AFLOAT. THEY WILL NOT HESITATE TO MASSACRE BABIES IF THAT IS WHAT WILL KEEP THEM IN POWER. THEY WILL NEVER REPENT NOR CHANGE. DO NOT EXPECT MERCY NOR COMPASSION FOR THERE WILL BE NONE -- SO CALLED GIFTS AND TREATIES ARE ALL FOR KEEPING THEM IN POWER. This is the enemy we are dealing with.

We are experiencing psychological warfare. The aims of psychological warfare is control of these:

- mind
- heart
- spirit
- soul
- behavior

When we speak of control, it is dominance. Control means having power over a person or a people. When we speak of power in terms of control, it is the capability to command a behavior or a
response through suggestion or coercion. It is also the capability to set limits on autonomous human behavior.

Psychological warfare aims to determine what the mind contains, processes, and believes in. In essence, psychological warfare is soft mind-control. Your ideas, beliefs, values and virtues will be the target of psychological warfare.

Psychological warfare aims to determine the affections, emotions, and feelings of the heart. It attempts to limit what a person can care for, what emotions a person experiences, and what feelings dominate his experiences. The most common feelings and emotions psychological warfare attempts to create are fear, self-doubt, worry, confusion, hopelessness, and security. Yes -- psychological warfare attempts to create feelings of security and fear as a way to paralyze people into dependence.

Psychological warfare attempts to break a the spirit into submission. Breaking the spirit involves overwhelming decision making capacities, creating insecurity in talents, abilities, and capacities.

Psychological warfare attempts to affect the soul by changing or destroying existing beliefs, altering preferences, destroying identity, or making identity weak through confusion and entertainment. Yes -- entertainment is part of psychological warfare. For what people enjoy affects what they cherish and celebrate. This is why entertainment is considered soft power.

Psychological warfare attempts to alter, command, or modify behavior through punishments and rewards in form of praises and scorn. Cancel culture is one form of this psychological war; people will get cancelled as long as they don't change their behaviors or views.

Get acquainted with the psychological war! Observe yourself -- you may have already been a casualty!

However, do not despair! Unlike armed conflict, "casualties" in psychological warfare can be "resurrected" from the dead. If you have seen that you have been affected, despair not! You can still recover!

Wait out for my next posts to get yourself and ourselves out of psychological grips!

If you're China the morally right thing to do would be to have nk function with an interim government and hash out reunification plans between nk and sk. They'd be hailed as a hero of the region.

However, that means they would give up a client buffer state, so.

I work in pretty high tech research and we hire tons of chinese nationals, not because we can pay them less or they're easier to hire than a US citizen, but because they know wtf is up with some pretty technical subjects. Keeping them from studying here will prevent us from being able to brain drain away the best and the brightest and mostly hurts as far as I can tell.

EDIT: What I'm saying is it appears Tom Cotton mistakenly thinks they can't figure this poo poo out of on their own, and being petulant children will just ensure we don't have a seat at the table.
