What I wanted and expected was for both of us to be able to access our inventories and actually play, instead of one person just being a hanger on. I could see that working well if you’re playing with a child, but I think for almost everyone else it’s a lot worse.

I agree, but I don’t think the local coop helps it at all. I’d rather just watch or not play at all than be the secondary coop partner.

Yeah, in practice we've only done it a few times, it's basically just watching with extra steps. You can gather wood hella fast with two people though.

I knew I should have left immediately after getting the recipe. Anything else is tempting fate. I thought people would know better by now, but...

At any rate thanks for opening up your island! Loved what you did with it, especially the concert area.

My boyfriend says that they're the same durability as the crafted tools that you make with the flimsy ones. Like you make a flimsy shovel and then craft that into a regular shovel and that has the same durability as the new ones the Nooklings sell. I'm not sure where he got his info and I really haven't tested it at all since I need bells WAY more than I need crafting materials right now. But that's what I've heard.

the way things get added to your personal catalogue of items that you can mail-order for is that they were in your inventory at some point

If you pick up a dropped item (not touch a placed item with A), it's automatically catalogued for you. Handy if people have big-ticket items at their shop that they don't want to let go, but don't mind you getting a copy of later.

Apparently a friend of a friend didn't play for 3 days and had Raymond move out.

Kinda sucks because apparently they didn't get any warning, just loaded up to an empty plot.

Kinda funny because apparently they paid money (granted, not that much) for him.

So it's up to the player who picked it up has to drop it again so that the original owner gets it back?

That's not really much of warning if you ever want to take a break from the game. :v:

I mean, I'd be tempted to pay like 5-10$ for a villager given how much amiibo cards cost (or how much the amiibo writer costs.) Well, I'd probably just see about getting a friend with an amiibo writer to mail me some bootlegs.

i was under the impression that they wouldn't leave without asking first?? Them leaving only if you said yes was one of the reasons I decided to get this game. It's depressing opening up a town after you've put the game down for a while and reading a letter saying your favorite character decided to leave & give their house to some rear end in a top hat.

I think Gold Roses come from watering Black Roses with a gold watering can.

At least that's how I recall it working in NL, and that's what I've heard for this game.

This is what I spent:

$36 for a used android phone (I'm sure you can get this cheaper if you're more knowledgeable about phones than I am)
$26.67 for 50 NFC stickers
$6.99 for 100 1-inch plastic discs to stick the stickers to (optional)
So $69.66 (nice) spent in total

All told, that comes out to $1.39 per villager I want to make, and as a bonus I got to make amiibos for my friends so they could get their favorites on their island without getting gouged on ebay.

If I had wanted to buy the actual cards, it would cost me:

Cherry: $50
Ankha: $68
Coco: $33
Tex: $7.50
Ruby: $21.50
Lucky: $68.75

My greatest regret is not ordering a shipment of nfc tags the moment the game came out, instead of late enough that they're stuck in "sure, they're definitely shipping! any day now! soon!" mode, I could've been rolling in cat villagers this very moment :arghfist::smith:
