IIRC Kelsey was supposed to be the captain but couldn't do it at the last minute, making this the second time Kate Mulgrew got the captain's role because of someone else dropping out suddenly.

We went ahead and bought season 10 and it has some really great episodes. I remembered Frasier being on a general downward trend after daphne and Niles got together but this season is full of classic episodes
