The entire state of Utah is only 3.2M people, it's not like annexing them is gonna shift the electorate particularly. Arizona is 7.2M, but it's also a purple state these days. Bringing in Colorado (5.7M) gives us a critical bridge across the rockies, and the total population of the Western Pact would still be dominated by California. (Washington is 7.6M, Oregon is 4.2M, Nevada is 3M, California is 39.5M).

yeah, it appears people gave up on Friday April 17th as traffic and crowds (on the streets/highways/even some non-shut down areas of the parks at least) were back to near normal then and even more now. They didn't even make it 30 days since the March 19th SAH order - like the "tough settler types, no gubmint patriots" they think they are!   Maybe 2/10 people walking by my house to the very large park down the street are wearing face coverings now too. Looking forward to Wave #2, electric boogaloo.
