I like how your bolded quote is just the normal liberal resignation we're all making fun of. Glad we can trust these people to shepherd us away from a boiling hellhole! e: imagine if during the primary process we actually vetted candidates and challenged them to be better instead of making excuses for their flaws in some desperate attempt to prop them up as "electable" because we're afraid of the Trumpers holding us to our criticisms. If staying out of the presidential vote means that we're helping Trump then I'm sorry, you need to understand, if, overnight by a miracle, the Republican party threw out all of its current members, overhauled its views and platforms, and became the intersectional feminist workers' utopian party of cyber-Marxism, we'd probably support them. Democrats don't get lefty votes by for free, they have to earn them. The Democrats and Republicans as they stand have far more in common than the Democrats and the actual left, and the selection of a pro-business right-wing rapist for the Democrats has only solidified this similarity. There's more than just theory crafting being discussed. If Republican Party essentially became a completely different party maybe I'd vote for them too! Sure, I get that you feel that Democrats didn't work for your vote and no one wants to vote for someone because they're not as bad as the other guy. Just don't tell me that Trump and Biden are the same or that somehow throwing the election to Trump or abstaining from voting is going to do any good.

I thought the allegation was Biden assaulted her, not raped her. I only bring this up because while both are bad, Trump has been accused by over 23 women (including a teenager the same age as his daughter)! Of raping. Not assaulting. Phone posted:"it was only sexual assault! besides, someone else did something worse!" First, I am both slightly high and two drinks in right now. So I’m not even trying to make some sort of accomplishment right now, other than to ask questions. Second, I was legitimately curious. My understanding was there was a difference between the two (assault VS rape) and yes, this does go back to the less lovely of the two conundrum. Obviously both are bad. I’m not trying to justify anything. Someone in another thread recently posted of all the positives that Biden being president would bring. I’m not going to copy and paste, but put several highlights. He’s better on civil rights, climate change, and the courts. These things matter to me. They matter to everyone I know. Is Biden as good as Bernie? Of course not. I’m someone who has always voted left, and this thread helped pull me from wanting to support Harris, to me liking Warren, to me supporting Bernie. Biden wasn’t on my list. But it’s not about my preferences. It’s about what is actually better for the country. Sticking to principles is important. But if your morals make you refuse to compromise, and end up directly or indirectly leading to a lot more people suffering, is that acceptable and actually righteous? That’s why I brought up Nader. A lot of people refused to vote for Gore, because of their principles, and I know a few who regret it more than just about anything in their lives.
