I woke up (yay!) to the stimulus payment in my account this morning so that was a nice treat. I'm going to do a bunch of cocaine and when the dig around in my face hole for the coronavirus test in a few hours I'm going to say the French said cocaine and cigarettes cure coronavirus then speed away cackling

just an FYI prepare yourself mentally for ultimate gaslighting from the chuds there will not be a number of deaths large enough to convince them opening up wasn’t the right thing to do (even though a majority of them support lock down now, they will see the error of their ways when trump personally endorses being open for the next 2 months, and trashes democrat states that aren’t) Crazyweasel has issued a correction as of 12:13 on Apr 30, 2020 |

The conditions in which it would be fine, like free easy testing for all and contact tracing, are not part of the re-opening so if you think it'll be fine you're probably a dumbass. The spread of these things isn't some mysterious force, if you force everything back open and pretend it's all fine everything surges again because that is what has always happened and what will always happen

In Australia restaurants are takeaway only and aren’t opening back up for now. In New Zealand restaurants were completely shut and have just been allowed to open for takeaway food. The big news in my state, NSW , is that 2 people and any children are now allowed to go and visit family or friends at their home.

man I was on the phone with a friend in Dallas for several hours Up to now I’d been blowing off all the concern about “the toll from lockdown will be worse than the disease” but I got a sobering peek at what that reality means to a lot of families My friend teaches underprivileged kids in a 98% minority neighborhood. Four kids in her school district have already died from domestic abuse. One of her students had to be talked out of attempting suicide. Every single day several of her students break down crying during their zoom classes, and half of her day just becomes therapy sessions for the kids. Many of them simply can’t attend class on some days because they have to cook for and take care of their siblings while their parents work. These are mostly black and Hispanic kids in grades 6-8.

Any country with good numbers isn't doing anything like what we are doing, which is why we have bad numbers and they gave good Everybody knows what to do to fight this, it comes down to being willing to or not. China, SK, NZ, they were willing and thus are fine. We are not willing and thus will not. Optimism is stupid, this is the rich instructing you at gunpoint to die because the alternative is you do not generate their wealth for awhile while enjoying the sort of monetary assistance that thus far only the rich have had access to
