So how do people think this Chinese scapegoating ends? So far no one has taken much notice, even as Pompeo as much as says China designed the rona. But the GOP has rallied around and are making noises about how once we re-open there needs to be consequences for China, harrump harrumph. Trade war? Ending visa for Chinese students? A big terrorist act against Asian-Americans?

My guess is if they really go down this conspiracy rabbit hole and cook up the intelligence to support (like Iraq WMDs) then they will demand financial compensation. Like something big like hundreds of billions or even trillions big. Which obviously isn't going to happen. Then we might decide to recognize Taiwan as an independent state, and establish real diplomatic links and an embassy with them. Also we might start actively assisting Hong Kong dissidents. I mean there's a million ways we can to after China but I think none of them will end well and can get us dangerously close to war.
