Joe Biden is already attacking Trump for letting China off the hook, and his position during the last debate with Sanders (lmao that was forever ago) was that China should let international weapons medical inspectors into Chinese labs to find out more about the virus.

Both parties are going nativist.

"leaked cdc report" what's this

e: I guess you mean this
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/04/us/coronavirus-live-updates.html#link-7b42d0f5

this didn't really even raise my eyebrows, it still seems optimistic to me. I guess it's "legitimate" as in someone at the CDC assembled it and gave it to trump's people and maybe also some reporters

e: or maybe this
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/04/cdc-daily-deaths-coronavirus-234377

tbh poo poo is so shady with most of these models produced by people with no medical background at all, I don't really put any stock in them

It's probably just separate commercial vs consumer flour supply chains. Total flour consumption shouldn't have changed much.

ok yeah, trump's people threw that one out because trump didn't like it, too pessimistic. and as you noted it's actually too optimistic. all of these models that have come out of CDC and anyone Birx/Fauci are connected to all assume that we do at least reasonable quarantine efforts and social distancing, so even the models backed by actual medical expertise are happy fantasies.
