Really, if you've got the time definitely read up on the Bayou of Pigs/Operation Red Dog listed above. A dozen or so white supremacists, Soldier of Fortune subscribers and I think one literal mall cop thought that they could walk in and take over Dominica. They got a contract from the exiled, former leader and did one of the dumbest plans possible while being heavily infiltrated by the ATF. Also Ron Paul probably threw money at them to help. The parallels are amazing. The only real question is whether the State Department really had a hand in the current mess, or if they just heard about it and assumed it was being done well. Their poor equipment and resources would seem to indicate they didn't actually work with anyone in the CIA or State, since they've definitely got money to throw around. But these are really stupid times.

Like it's just been one really extra lovely tweet after another for about 3 weeks now. It's not normally QUITE this bleating and constant. I will forever associate Trump and all of this performative "politics" nonsense in society these days very closely with Twitter and social media platforms in general, but especially Twitter with Trump essentially having been allowed to become the face of it to me.....so great business approach and angle there I guess Jack Dorsey.

I'm not sure about the anti-social tendencies stuff but they cut standards pretty hard because they were getting sandwiched hard between being over-tasked and having a high attrition rate. That's when they did poo poo like restarting the 18x program (enlist directly into SF). Also the focus on the GWOT meant they were focused on the door-kicking skillset and a lot of the skills that 18-series are supposed to be known for got the "check the box treatment". I know they started doing poo poo like dumbing down the language training in order to increase the graduation rate. It should be noted this had an ugly cycle aspect because they 18x guys were getting smoked at a depressing rate because they were basically throwing green troops into jobs that were supposed to be held by the best of the best of the seasoned vets. That said one of the guys I go to school with went in as an x-ray and he's like goddamn Cpt. America, super professional, and is fluent in like 5 languages so it's all stochastic to some degree.
