If he drove a Ford Prefect we'd at least have a tangential Hitchiker's reference justification for the excellent theory that he's an alien (Mr. Being) trying to get along on earth. He's deposited by a beam of light in the intro for gently caress's sake

Right before that, though, you have Henriksen delivering the line about how shocked he is by Ash's malfunction completely flat. It's obviously an artificial emotion, and a good bit of acting.

Fun fact about Henriksen, he didn’t learn how to read until he was in his 30’s and he says it’s given him a very different approach to acting than other actors.

This isn’t a riff on the Brad Pitt joke, you can look that up.

tbf Lance and Brad are kind of similar actors

theyve both played meathead jocks, theyve both played bookish nerds, and theyve both played just a guy you wanna hang out with

I find this really uplifting. At age 30 he was illiterate and barely starting to act, cool that he managed to make it. Never to late to start and all that.

Brad Pitt never hunted Jean-Claude Van Damme for sport, so Henrickson clearly has more range.

"Since when can someone move themselves with the force?"
Since Luke was flinging himself 20ft across a room.

"Since when can Leia use the force?"
Empire Strikes Back when she hears Luke calling to her.

Okay that further convinces me it was originally supposed to be Leia before a rewrite happened at some point.

There's a scene in Rise of Skywalker that blatantly obviously was supposed to be Leia, but they replaced her with another character due to her death.
