Actually since autopsies were suspended in most states this data is pretty helpful if not definitively representative.

Yeah this is why we probably won't be seeing sports for awhile once athletes understand they may be facing significant reduction of lung function if they get sick.

doesn't affect your ability to play until well after you retire, for most players anyway

if you can't breathe you can't sprint down the field

because thinning your blood too much can cause a brain bleed. much like blood pressure, having the right amount of clottability in your blood is in the middle of two extremes

Yeah but isn't like everyone over the age of 50 supposed to take baby aspirin anyway - baby aspirin is low-dose for a reason

also most people are going to the hospital with turbofucked lungs and even if the advanced stages of the disease had no clotting stuff going on u would still die of ARDS/kidneys hosed/everything else that comes from extreme sickness and hypoxia

I think that the timing of reopening orders and the amount of indoor places that have prolonged exposure and droplet generation will be the best predictor of where the next outbreaks occur. Look for places opening churches and gyms or places that have high public transit usage.

It's going to be real interesting what the various players unions do, since it pretty much all hinges on them.

I don't think concussions/CTE is a fair comparison for how they might react since coronavirus hasn't been an accepted risk of playing sports in the way that concussions were in football.

I think once it becomes common knowledge that coronavirus can cause irreversible damage, they're going to all go "lol no" and refuse to play. None of them want to risk future contracts because the owners are getting antsy.

once I hit a deer with my car, called the state troopers to get a report for insurance. the pig that showed up immediately asked if the deer was dead and was disappointed that he wouldnt be able to shoot it. then he spent half an hour reminiscing about his favorite activity in the world after shooting stuff, which was arresting Latinos for felony transportation of alcohol for going to the neighboring county to buy beer. american police exist for no other reason than to inflict harm.

Given all of this stuff about close quarters sustained contact driving transmission, how hosed are wildland firefighters? Are they going to light up like a meatpacking plant once fire season kicks off?

Yeah I may be a bit optimistic, but I keep thinking the high profile players who aren't chuds who make plenty of money are going to start weighing the risk of playing some bullshit half assed season.

I'm guess I'm mostly talking mlb here.

The NFL has the luxury of all tis teams being in the US.
