Drink-Mix Man posted:Has there legit ever been a good Star Trek murder mystery episode? Journey to Babel is good, but the murder mystery is more incidental and not really the focus of the whole show.

The_Doctor posted:The trouble with a murder mystery is you’d have to have a mostly unknown dramatis personae because obviously the murderer isn’t going to be Riker or Dax or Saru. It's only really half a murder mystery but the episode where Odo and friends get to relive Odo's past (but not really) to reveal a DRAMATIC SECRET does end up with Odo being the murderer

Patrick McGoohan played four different bad guys! Peter Falk was such an underrated Number Two.

I liked the Crusher murder mystery though... It's not great but it's a nice one-off. Plus Crusher totally blows a hole in a guy with a phaser and that's awesome.

I'm listening to the patreon version of ep1 now, and the first thing I notice is five minutes in they're talking about the first actress who played Janeway for two days. It's interesting and I don't remember that part from listening to it on spotify, so there's definitely some interesting extras. Edit: The second and third podcast episode both had about 20 extra minutes. Parallax has a brief bit with Robert Picardo. 8one6 fucked around with this message at 11:20 on May 11, 2020 |

Watching Enterprise all the way through in a futile attempt to wash away the nuTrek stink and saw One Night In Sickbay (S2) for the first time. Why does this thing exists?? Archer lets the aliens wait and get even more annoyed, when they have valuable parts to give away, is an rear end to everyone, and apparently him an T'Pol are into eachother now. That came out of absolutely nowhere. Up until now the episodes were mostly watchable and nothing too offensive but this just left me with a big old WTF at the end.

That's the one where his dog gets sick after pissing up against a sacred tree of some aliens they already met before and know that they're extremely touchy after they inadvertently offended them by showing off their mess hall right?

Is that the one where Archer's dog pisses on a tree and gets sick? I remember reading either a Television Without Pity or Agony Booth recap, and I think it was both a dumb episode and an example of Archer acting unprofessional.

Technically DS9 had all those things in spades, he just wasn’t patient enough to find out. He probably just gave up after season 1 and went on to adore Voyager.

Still watching ENT on and off and I am actually fairly certain that literally anyone on this starship would be a better captain that Archer. Hell, Harry Kim would be a better captain than Archer.
