OSHA or not, this is soothing to watch, like the videos of that one foundation layer driving nails in two smooth blows.

Obviously never used a bandsaw before lol.

These guys have really good form, and are using the bandsaw rather safely but I don't see eye and ear protection however.

Same but it was indirect. The shop teacher saw a student lift up on the plastic guard, while the band was moving, and clean the sawdust out with their fingers. The teacher kept his mouth shut not to startle the kid and the stress caused a minor heart attack.

Yeah insecticide is good at killing insects, that's true

I was saying that it doesn't seem to cause CCD. It's mostly used as a seed coating to protect seeds during germination these days

Hey, so I'm finally looking for a house to buy! What kind of deathtrap stuff should i be on the lookout for that would be enough of a red flag to run screaming before needing to pay for an inspector?

I know screw in fuses and janky homemade writing in the attic, but what was the brand name of the circuit breaker panel that's a fire waiting to happen? The houses I'm looking at right now are in the midwest and were built between 1960 and 1980

Federal Pacific Electric's "Stab-Lok" breakers. There are other compatible brands, though.

I didn't witness the accident, I was a student worker in the office at the time and that's where they brought the kid while they waited for an ambulance. He apparently just stuck his hand in it. Hand was wrapped in a bloody cloth by the time I saw. That's my story thanks for listening.

I was in the woodshop (not at school, at the lumber yard) and the old timer running the shop sliced off three fingers on a table saw faster than you can scream.

Only bandsaw injury we ever had was from cleaning it while it was off.

Hope you're thankful you're in a location where the market isn't so stupidly crazy that you have to waive an inspection because the seller refuses to wait and will just move on to the next buyer in line. :gonk:

Band isn't enclosed. Any opening is a hazard because humans are complete morons.

I've done enough EHS in my life to know leaving safety to humans acting correctly for hours on end is a recipe for disaster.

Edit: funny example of humans acting dumb: my wife found a dirty diaper in the baby laundry hamper today. Why? Who knows.

We bought our house from someone who did that during the last boom and as a result he ended up owing money after the sale. (And should have owed more, honestly, now that I know some of the things our inspector missed.)

Plumbers cutting into joints. Look around and ask youself whether a wall should be there. How it's heated. Look at the eaves to see if the house can breathe. Just check out DIY forum.

When I had my roof done I had it in the contract to install D rings on the roof's peak. So now when I clean my gutters I can tie off something.

The portion of the video that's just firetrucks driving is what that part of Florida looks like. Assuming that crash footage is actually the incident in question, it definitely didn't happen anywhere near Eglin. Might have been an Eglin jet in Utah or something though?

Someone else called it but it's an F-16 that crashed in another location.

Quite frankly, if I see a plane crashing anywhere remotely near the freeway while I'm driving on it, I'm stopping or slowing significantly too.
