BIG TIT LIL NIP posted:At this point who gives a gently caress where it came from. It would be great to know yes and sure it could potentially help with something idk but right now I think the most important thing for everyone to do is social distance as much as humanly possible to limit the spread. The cats already out of the bag and taxing China more isn't going to do much towards ending all this pointless suffering. Australia and the UK are also pretty gung ho about "investigating" China and holding them responsible for the pandemic, they're falling back on the old "external enemy which we can all direct out anger towards" trick in a desperate attempt to shift the public's attention away from their own lovely handling of the situation. It's particularly stupid for Australia to be screaming about this because the majority of our exports are bought by China (some of our industries send up to 98% of their produce to China) and the Chinese diplomat went "Uh, are you sure you want to do this?" and the Australian prime minister kept shouting and crying and literally shaking so China has been slowly cancelling billions of dollars worth of imports and going "How about now? Still bitching? Okay ...." and cancelling even more and dropping really heavy hints about tariffs. quote:Beijing hit back last week against Australia's pursuit of a global inquiry into the coronavirus, halting imports from four of our largest red meat abattoirs citing technical infringements and launching an anti-dumping investigation that could impose 80 per cent tariffs on Australia's $1 billion barley export trade. happyhippy posted:Its a poo poo bioweapon in the first place. didnt the Spanish Flu start in the US and kill way more people than covid19? if China is going to be "punished" for this virus then the US owes everyone for the same poo poo plus a hundred years' of interest

The origin of the Spanish Flu is actually controversial. But yeah good luck hitting back at the country that manufactures most of the world's poo poo, including the vast majority of pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, and devices that people use to masturbate while in quarantine (or not in quarantine)

The origin is important to prevent it from happening again. China convinced the WHO to tell the world there was no evidence of human to human transmission while they covered up the severity of the outbreak and while buying up all the PPE they could. Later they restricted internal travel while allowing flights to continue to destinations outside their borders Leaders around the world may attempt to shift focus from their own response but China is responsible for this pandemic at the most fundamental levels.

I feel like a lot of Americans, especially right-wingers, are going through their own 5 stages of grief. First there was denial: This is a hoax, etc. Then anger, with all the protests Now bargaining, where "it was all overblown" and, "if we use special, almost arbitrary, rules, it's totally okay for everyone to be in large groups again!" I dread having to find ways to make people feel better when they collectively hit the depression phase. Drunk Nerds fucked around with this message at 03:52 on May 17, 2020 |
