There could actually be a renaissance of rushing in the NFL if/when some coaches start to consider that signing a bunch of undersized fast college QBs with mediocre arms and running 50 times a game with crazy misdirection where any of 4 guys might carry the ball, plus the occasional play action/deep shot to keep the defense from putting 11 in the box, might be more effective than having a bad immobile QB who can’t decipher a defense throw from the pocket 35 times. You watch the Mason Rudolphs of the world who can’t do anything at an NFL level and you have to think the team would be better off with an RB/WR who can throw at a non-embarrassing level taking snaps, because at least he could do one thing (run) at an NFL level Eric the Mauve fucked around with this message at 16:28 on May 18, 2020 |

At the same time though pretty much every team has an at-least acceptable thrower at QB right now except..... I guess the Bears? Panthers, Patriots? This year feels unusual (aside from covid, obviously) in that there's a lot more QB talent than usual, a few years ago it seemed like almost fully half the league was desperately looking for their next QB.
