That doesn't explain the ones who become symptomatic again. We'd understand what's going on a lot better if we had more reliable tests but if other countries also find that "reinfected" patients don't seem able to transmit the virus that would be a huge leap forward in our knowledge of this beast.

There are two major schools of thought regarding this:

1) the conspirators are extremely devious and confident of their incredibly sophisticated schemes, and part of their agenda is to constantly signal what they're doing, as if to say "look, we're being so obvious about this and still you can't stop us, mwahaha"
2) the conspirators are inept morons who literally can't help themselves from leaving clues to their sinister intentions everywhere even if it might jeopardise their plans

It's pretty normal for the people posting on facebook about bringing down the evil sicko elite to subscribe to an incoherent mixture of both explanations even though they seem fundamentally incompatible, but logical consistency isn't really a factor in conspiracy-conservatism-ruined-brain-world anyway, so. The common underlying idea is that the conspirators are pathologically compelled to show their hands, and therefore fundamentally Weak and not fully in control of their own actions. This is how the Good Upstanding Normal Christian People working tirelessly to expose them (ie posting memes) are able to conceive of themselves as having the ability to meaningfully combat their otherwise all-powerful enemies and eventually leave them humiliated and totally defeated.

Meanwhile, outside Crate & Barrel, June Sheets, a retiree, was loading her trunk with a box of new acrylic plates and an outdoor planter for a luncheon she was hosting.

This is glorious I think the news is blowing it all out of proportion. The wineries are opening this weekend for indoor service and were going there tomorrow. I cant wait!

Outside Urban Outfitters, Jennifer Kiernan was having a glass of wine as her daughter shopped inside.

Oh my God, this feels great I love it, she said, explaining that she assumed that she and everyone around her was healthy. I think people would not be out if they had been exposed to anyone with corona.

Inside Parisian Nail Salon:

Who specializes in ingrown? Because I have an ingrown, Greta Holland, who was in her 60s, said, extending her hand through a hole in an acrylic partition so she could get a manicure from a woman on the other side, wearing a mask.

Holland, who was not wearing a mask, turned to chat with her friend in the next chair, who was reclining for her pedicure.

If this is risking my life, then Ive been risking my life going to Costco, said Betty Luke. I went to the antique mall yesterday on Highway 9 and it was just like it was like freedom. We have to get out. We have to live in this world, and if we dont

Its not living, said Holland, who checked her nail color Oh I love it! paid $32 and began to put on a surgical mask, but then decided not to.

I hate these things, she said, heading back outside into the sun, where the music had switched to Party in the U.S.A. and the sidewalks were getting more crowded with people walking three and four across along Avalon Boulevard. Many were no longer paying attention to the green one-way arrows, the dashes of fluorescent tape marking six-foot increments or the clerk at the front of Urban Outfitters offering Purell.

If they get sick they will be completely surprised, how could this happen when theyve been nothing but safe? They didnt do anything wrong and anyone they got sick wouldnt blame them for it, they know that, this was impossible to predict.

So no-mask woman was never gonna go shopping anyway, she just wanted to stir up poo poo. What mysterious illness is preventing her from wearing a mask? It would have to be something respiratory at which point exposing yourself to others would be doubly stupid in times of a respiratory-illness pandemic. Still why no mask? They are paper thin and don't do anything but protect.

Plus if she really had one she might as well name it. Not like anybody has any interest in her data at a bloody supermarket. Sadly she will never see any consequences to get poo poo.

In a SHOCKING turn of events the latest IHME model (posted 10 days ago) seems to have over-estimated the death curve for once?

https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

The IHME graph is smoothed to a three day rolling average so it should run along the middle of the peaks & troughs, so if we get the exact same numbers this week (and maybe even next week) that we had last week then the current IHME model might still be a good fit. I still say it's incredibly optimistic to assume that numbers will continue to drop and not plateau or increase, it'll be interesting to see if they update the graph again or let ride for once.

It's a combo of weekend numbers down and states hiding deaths. Number must always go up, that is how it always was and always will be.
