And I'd argue are first real genuine attempt at fascism started with Nixon but he was dumb enough to record his crimes and that was back when Republicans still somewhat cared about being caught doing evil things. Now they just do it right in front of our loving face and then deny it. Obfuscation and attrition designed to wear down any sort of critical thinking. No wonder they don't want to fund education. These 40% of MAGA heads are a bunch of mean spirited, angry, stupid, heavily armed and aggressive morons that don't seem to know anything or even what it means to be free or what they're even mad about. They're just ugly, rude and dumb. And there are a lot of them.
