Worked in a warehouse and all we had were pallet jacks and carts, moving pallets of soda around, it sucked. Unloading trucks was super sketchy, we had this aluminum ramp to bridge the loading dock, but some trucks were taller and it would put the ramp at nearly 40 degrees. One day it was raining and this guy moved a pallet of soda down this little ramp and the whole pallet tipped over almost crushed a dude. Good times!

Slap the word challenge after anything and it’s a license to do whatever you want. Safety is for pussies, internet fame is forever.

That's also kind of the apprentice position. If you have more than 3 brain cells to rub together and don't die of meth and syphilis blowing your cash while away from the rig you can start picking up maintenance, medic (for off shore or extremely remote rigs), or heavy equipment certifications that stack up bonuses fast. And if you hang around for more than a couple years you get into the decision making positions like drill operator that they start paying well because it takes a very rare idiot to hang around long enough and be smart enough to pick up how to not total 500 grand of drill equipment in a day and maim half the dudes on the deck.

Looking at this and all the chains flying, heavy steel being thrown around, I remembered that garbage man was the most dangerous job or something and like miles above being a cop. Someone should have that stat. Mist be per capita or something because I’d die the first day as a roughneck.
