The current climate and the last four/five years being so divisive politically means social media can be an absolute war zone. I’m happy having deleted Facebook, but the ease and speed at which you can follow unravelling events means Twitter gets a pass, despite all of the crossfire that comes with it. If people stopped being jerks to one another online, that’d help.

Logging off is the logical thing to do. Depression and mental illness have nothing to do with logic, I can tell you from experience. And what can trigger that poo poo differs from person to person, and it's really not hard to imagine thousands of people telling you to kill yourself might be one for certain people. So "just log off" is on the same level of "why are you depressed, you've got nothing to be sad about?" and Kenta, while I love him, should shut the gently caress up. This same situation happened a couple years ago with August Ames, the adult film star who's husband was a goon. Nothing changed then. It won't change with Hana because like August she's in a niche field where no one mainstream really knows her or cares enough to make change. It's going to take something like this happening with an A Lister to get people to pay enough attention for any positive change.
