I think if he were doing CIA work he wouldn't be allowed to platform Palestinian rights advocates or people who regularly work with Telesur or RT. The CIA doesn't need people like Rogan anymore, they've got Twitter and Facebook now to act as peripheral forces to complement their stranglehold on the platforms of the wider popular media

The Rogans and Alex Jones' of the world are just flapping loose in the winds of popular sentiment now

like I don't listen to Rogan and I'm not a huge fanboy defender or anything, but people like Bari Weiss and David Frum have done 10,000x the damage and present infinitely more of a threat to progress than he does. We'll probably see some more manufactured outrage about him soon whenever he tells Biden to gently caress off again tho, probably hemming and hawing about trans rights from Jennifer "Rick Santorum Supporter" Rubin

Joe rogans just a credulous idiot. He's done good things for discourse around drugs imo. To the point where Joe rogan boys will now tell me that they think full decriminalisation of drugs would be a good idea and that's a good sentiment to have out there.

As a long time mma fan i will tell you that Joe just likes things that are sick and or rule. To the point where he will mid fight start saying what cool thing could happen and then when it doesn't he drops it. Joe yelling "oh he's in deep! Oh wait no he's out" happens on basically every card he commentates because he's so enthusiastic about a cool submission happening that he basically doesn't know what he's looking at and he's just another enthusiastic poo poo head.

My point being that Joe's critical reasoning skills are non existent. He's probably pretty good at listening to whatever accountants/administrators he has behind him though.

That and it feels like they don't get that, presumably, creating a hostile work environment will get someone kicked out of their job in a communist society as much as it will a capitalist one. It's bizarre since there's so much hand-wringing over "oh no how will this man feed himself after your pernicious liberal canceling has deprived him of a job?!" but they don't seem to understand that, in the capitalist environment, you're usually stuck with your coworkers since quitting is a bad choice and changing jobs is tough. Why should people have to put up with the local office homophobe?

I have no problem with shitlords getting named and shamed, and I fully support trying to get them fired for their poo poo.

That said, there's a valid point employers being arbiters of morality on conduct outside work is a dangerous thing, but it's not like that's something new (see: everyone who ever got fired for a positive drug test who didn't have a job where such testing is a matter of workplace safety). All the complaints about "cancel culture" feel like sour grapes from people who would be perfectly fine with someone getting fired for supporting the BDS movement and their complaints should be treated as being made in bad faith.

I used to listen a lot because I'm a UFC fan and needed to fill a lot of time at work, I stopped after about a year when I realized 90% of the show is Joe repeating the exact same bits over and over and over.

But my favorite recent incident was when he brought on Andy Ngo shortly after the milkshake event. Rogan is too dumb to realize that Andy's whole act is a really thinly veiled ruse that most of his fellow travelers just play along with and starts off the show by earnestly asking him how he's doing with his head injury and about the incident. Andy starts talking about how he went to the ER and they diagnosed him with some extremely serious brain injury and neural damage....and then how they sent him home the same day. Joe, of course, is pretty familiar with what blows to the head usually do and the medical treatment that people get for them and starts being like "wait what? they didn't keep you in the hospital after this?" and after some very awkward back and forth where they both realize what's happening Joe quickly changes the subject and doesn't talk about it again lmfao.

I think this is mostly true but he can't claim to be undecided and above it all when he's constantly making his show a friendly platform available to people like Milo, Crowder, Shapiro, Ngo, Peterson etc. He might think of himself as an independent because he attempts to make his show less friendly to these guys than say a Breitbart or Fox News podcast but that's just damning with faint praise. The JRE is the premiere place for people like that to legitimize themselves to a huge audience and they've been doing it for so long that his audience is now mostly the same as theirs.

he makes his show a friendly platform to most anyone. the only people I have heard him straight up reject is Biden and crew because he thought they were boring. the only reason Milo and them get more track is the right wing is much better at understanding how to use media while nominal leftists care more about appearing virtuous

Any time Rogan has a lefty guest there will be deep discussions about systematic problems in America and what to do about them and you feel like he actually grew in his view point that day.

Then an episode later he will have on another guest and agree with them that the real problem is those darn SJWs.

Doesn't matter who you get on his show, because part of his problem is he is a rube with a goldfish memory who's view point is based on who he talked to last. Unless it's about weed then he has strong permanent positions.
