Earlier I complained about not finding a short ruler to my liking on Aliexpress. Just went to Citymarket and there was an ample selection. I bought one that suited my needs and aesthetic preferences perfectly - 0,79€ "made in Germany". Aliexpress kind of sucks for most things now.

A clear plastic 15 cm ruler in a basic colour is an extremely specific thing. It's also an extremely extremely common thing, and I couldn't find one on Aliexpress because it's poo poo now. I'm 100% certain there are several factories in China right now pumping out exactly what I wanted by the thousands but Aliexpress isn't the place to buy them, apparently. You search for something and you get 40 000 hits for something that isn't what you wanted but they included the word in the name anyway, and it's all two or three models that are currently what everyone is selling. It's still good for some game and computre stuff but there it's a complete crap-shoot. And of course for things that aren't useful in the first place. I really appreciated the option of having ems delivery options, so that stuff would be delivered in 1-2 weeks, to my door. (Bought a fuckload of those magnetic jewelry clasps/adapters from them once, old ladies in my family still mention how much they appreciate them because it means they can use jewelry on their own without needing help putting them on. )

It is entirely a matter of what delivery option you choose though. If you go with the super cheap / free delivery options on BG you'll have the same 'mystery lottery' style shipping times as aliexpress. EMS-y options cost more than the slowest ones, depending on size/shape. Ali also has a small list of different shipping methods you can use, with different time estimates for each. The 1-2 week delivery on BG wasn't standard, but what I got when dropping ~20bux on shipping because I wanted stuff asap. e:  Granted, due to the current everything going on, and people on this same page talking about shipping delays to airmail, it'll probably take a long time anyway. So unless you need the stuff asap, just relax and enjoy the present your past self bought for you. It's always exciting to get something once you've forgotten you ordered it at all.
