So, we have: 1) a militarized police force, incapable of de-escalation 2) we are in a positive feedback loop where more police brutality-->more protesting-->more police brutality-->more protesting 3) there are most definitely radical elements amongst the protesters that are trying to fan the flames--white nationalists, antifa, who the gently caress knows who else. This is happening everywhere 4) governors/mayors feel now like they're in a position where they have to take extreme measures to defend the cities 5) we have all seen the press attacked by the police, numerous times, when the police clearly knows they are reporters (this after POTUS calling the press the "enemy of the people" for four years) 6) it is a miracle police or NG haven't just blown away a group of protesters yet, but it is inevitably going to happen soon 7) COVID-19 infections are absolutely going to skyrocket over the next couple of weeks, to levels previously unseen in this country, possibly overwhelming the medical system with all this other poo poo going on at the same time 8) and on top of all this, we have a man in the WH who ran on the idea of hate and division, and who has a documented, long-term fascination with gore, violence, death, and in particular mass death Did I miss anything? I suppose given what we've seen so far we should also expect an 8.0 earthquake on the west coast, or a mega-hurricane on the east coast, or similar? Perhaps a war between the US and someone?

Yeah I was literally just out there as a relative newcomer to marching and the antifa that are out there are usually the ones you're least likely to notice because they're working on keeping the crowds safe from cops. Looters and criminals are taking advantage of police absences.
