US parishes reflect their membership more than anything. I'm near three Catholic churches, one mostly white, one mostly Mexican immigrant, and one that's sort of a mixed congregation. The white one focuses on anti-abortion activism and the immigrant one on supporting undocumented people. The mixed parish focuses on international charity and it's food bank, I guess as sort of a compromise.
