I have never been put on tilt as much as I just did in a game. 1hp Rogue, Hail Mary to stay alive single card Galakrond vs a full board. Gets Togwaggle for 0. Togwaggle 3 cards. Gets Kronx & Flik for 0, as well as draw a Legendary from another Class. Legendary from another Class gives him Jaraxxus Hero card. Put your HS down, go down the street, buy a goddamn lottery ticket, because apparently you're due to win.

I just started playing regularly after starting up like a year or so ago (when I got all the classes to at least 10). DH is a fun addition, but my question is should I be prioritizing the basic hearthstone packs with coins or the latest expansion?

If yes, and you’re willing to take a few years slowly building up your collection as sets come out, prioritize the Classic set because those cards will always be Standard legal barring some fundamental change to how Standard works. A lot of the cards won’t be very good right now but their eternally legal nature makes them a good long term investment. If no, prioritize the most 2 most recent expansions (and the 2 most recent single player releases) because they have some of the most powerful cards available to play with right now. Eventually you’ll get to a place where you have an adequate Classic collection and can start saving gold between expansions to buy 50-70 packs of each one as they come out. Start doing this and within the next 1-2 years you should have a decent enough collection of every legal set that you’ll probably always have at least one tier 1 or 2 deck available to you at any given time. If you want to just get something to play with right away and work on Classic after, I’d focus on Demon Hunter. It’s still one of the best decks in the game even after getting hit with 3 waves of nerfs and it’s cheaper than it looks because a bunch of its cards come from completing the free Demon Hunter content. Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely give that DH deck a try, I’m pretty sure I have most of the cards. I made it to Silver with a combination of Zoo Warlock/Galkarond Warlock/Creatureless Mage but since I hit silver I think I’ve won two games.

If you go back a few pages anaconda posted some tips. I've flirted with the deck since then. The refined version from VS was def an improvement. Still have a negative record though. It seems to be all about winning the turn before your opponent kills you / stabilizes. Which I guess is basically what all tempo decks are at core? I find those decks the most difficult to play.

I got to my highest rank, Diamond 1 3 stars and took a little break after sliding. I don't really enjoy trying hard to climb, but want to do it at least once. Per Blasmeister, I may hold off on that until aggro is more viable and just enjoy playing around with fun decks at D5 for now.

My list is more lively now  After the nerfs on the 18th I spent most of my time on ladder learning and playing the new Spell Dragon Druid (going 38-20, 66%), along with a 20-game set dedicated to trying out Pirate Warrior. I resonate really well with how the deck plays, and was able to push the Demon Hunter matchup and occasional mirror way in my favor. I kept playing more and more without vanilla Alextraza expecting to lose, but the losses never came. Also for reference my go-to tournament lineup post-nerf was Eggless Enrage Warrior, Tempo DH with mirror-match tech, and traditional Spell+Ysera Druid. And with a sudden windfall of dust, I have the option of crafting the Dragonqueen and testing Highlander Hunter, although I already know I'd have to adjust my list to be more aggressive so I can cut Siamat (which might actually help the deck!) I've also considered crafting Greyhart Sages to contribute to Stealth Rogue decklist testing, with or without Galakrond. There are some good aggro ideas out there and some initial results that may need more aggro specialists to explore. But I'm saddened that the Secret Scam version found Prep+Questing Adventurer tech to probably hold on as the go-to Rogue build.

I tried spell Druid a bit last month and hated it. Way too many games where you can't do anything until you hopefully hit Glowfly Swarm on 5. It felt real bad against Demon Hunters pooping out minions nonstop.

The most likely is if you have lethal on board and there are several taunts in the way. I'm sure he values minion removal over silence, unless theres really nasty deathrattles involved. You'll have to evaluate the board state and ask yourself what other 4 cost cards potentially deal with that scenario.

IIRC Zeph evaluates deathrattles based on how good / bad the minion's stats are compared to the vanilla rate.
