i muted the voices after a while. it's no dig on the chapo peepos to say that they aren't professional voice actors, and also i usually mute voices in adventure games. it's a shame, though, many of the other voices were beautifully done. measurehead, my god!

i should probably replay the final sequence with voices turned on, or even the whole game.

I'm trying to get Waste land of reality from Tiago but I can't seem to get the thought - do I need to have used booze/drugs to get the prompt to go sober?

I just started the game and I'm stuck on the level where you grab your jacket. East of Cuno. The only places I can go are a guardhouse where I can take drugs, a room for the workers with a locked door, and a place to meet the boss. Meeting with the boss kills me if I sit in the chair (why?!) and I don't see any other options. I can not get back down to the level of Cuno.

I keep picking up morale healing items but I do not seem to have them on me. I do not think I've picked up any health healing items.

Right now I'm mainly interested in getting down.

Pillbug
The pluses over your health and morale are your healing items stash (also if you buy a +3 health item it just give you 3 clicks).

If you have truly picked up no health items you might need to restart. Playing Detective Dies Instantly can be risky. Or speak to the Ubi guy and otherwise pass time until it's sufficently late the boss is gone but this may or may not be possible.

I'm gonna have to restart then because I do die instantly from any damage at all, did not realize this during character creation, and after realizing it did was not expecting to face a mandatory dangerous chair.

There's a fair bit of nosaphed knocking about (by the coffee machine near Garte frex) so be sure you do not have a number in that orange plus. Or you could spend a skill point on Endurance if you have one spare. Sadly I assume your Pain Threshold is also so low you can't survive a heart attack.

Found a youtube video showing the interaction - looks like I'm straight up missing a dialogue option that grants the thought - perhaps because I haven't drunk/used drugs - or maybe because of something else. Drinking doesn't make the option appear though.

e: need higher Volition it seems

e2: nvm, that makes the dialogue appear but I still don't get the thought

There should be some healing drugs in the guardhouse area on the roof that you can get to without restarting

Man, how could you mute the voices?? I mean, I can see why, but there’s like never more than a few voiced lines so I never thought about turning them off. I feel like I’d heard enough of Kim’s VA which I thought was really well done, before I heard any of the voice acting I found annoying which was mostly the Scab Leader and Titus, but by the end of the game I appreciated even their voice acting, but I think that also had a lot to do with the characters and the plot. But Kim and especially Measurehead are incredible, the video of him performing the lines is great.

Be sure to keep pressing tab while running around, it highlights clickable objects that could have healing items or other things in them. Also having a good perception stat makes them more likely to show up.

It's not him. Evrart is Evrart, it's just that Edgar and him sometimes switch places. But the physical tells match Evrart's description.

The tells include a lazy eye, I could have sworn someone said it's Edgar who has one. But forgetting it's "Evrart" and not "Edward" does make me think I shouldn't trust my memory.

Speaking of music - I've been meaning to give British Sea Power a listen after playing this an absurd amount but I'm not sure where to start. Anyone know them well and have a good album or two to jump into? I listened to a few random tracks I liked and of course "The Smallest Church in Sussex" but nothing grabbed me enough to stick it out long enough to get to know a whole album.

I'm a fan of almost every song on Let The Dancers Inherit The Party but I'm sure someone will chime in to tell you that their older stuff is better.

From what I heard of their stuff, "Man of Aran" is probably one of the closest they have to the general vibe of DE soundtrack (Tiger King from it is even the basis for the dream theme ingame). It's mostly instrumental and pretty chill. "Let the Dancers Inherit the Party" is the newest album and probably the most "accessible", and also very good and a highlight (and again, quite a few bits and pieces from it ended up on the soundtrack). "From the Sea to the Land Beyond" is pretty good as well. Their debut, "The Decline of British Sea Power", is worth checking out as well for the punkier, harsher-sounding version of BSP.
