I will use them three or four times when I get them, and giggle to myself as Kirk beams back and forth between mugs. Then, I will put them up on a shelf and only take them down once or twice per year to pour hot and cold liquids into and look smugly at my guests as they watch the magic happen.

The trick might be in making sure you never send something with those paints through the dishwasher. Not that big of a pain for me, but I imagine not everyone digs that.
