The show has another host the kinda guide the conversation along as Gilbert will sometimes just tangent. How they act depends on the guest. Like if they have someone like Charlotte Rae (Mrs. Garrett from fact of life), he'll tone down the language and dirty jokes. But if you have Jeff Ross in, well you can imagine. You can definitely tell that Gilbert's humor was shaped by watching old movies on TV and he has almost an encyclopedia like mind when it comes to old Hollywood actors and writers. Search youtube for this Ceasar Romero or Paul Lind stories as they never get old. There was a recent episode that had Julie Hagerty and Robert Hayes to talk about the 40th anniversary of Airplane and it was pretty good.
