I liked Sam Jones showing up in Ted but that's only because Flash Gordon is one of my favorite bad movies.

Basebf555 posted:Best celebrity cameo ever is Bob Barker in Happy Gilmore. I have to go with Robert Duval in Slingblade just from how out of left field it came and how long it took me to recognize him. Come to think of it, I've thought more than once about starting a "Holy poo poo, Was That REALLY So and So?; PYF Cameo" thread but I can never remember the ones I want to use in my OP, which I only seem to recall during my hour commute to and from work or when I'm watching a movie that reminds me of the idea in the first place. I know I've had 3 or 4 cross my mind here and there but drawing a total blank right now. Could be a cool thread. Sorry I have no IIMM to contribute at the moment.

It's often happened in reverse when I look up an actor and realise I've actually seen them in other things, like the late Carol Ann Susi who played Howard's offscreen mother in Big Bang Theory - I had actually seen her before years earlier. She was Cousin Doris in Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the woman who took Witch's License photos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwAaWk1fQ1U

Do Penny and Garry Marshall in Hocus Pocus count as a cameo? Probably not but in a relatively so-so movie, that whole scene is pure gold.

The whole season they were building up to this Lindermann character...bid casino owner, tires up organized crime and politics, almost every character was connected to him in some way. We finally see him, and it's Malcolm McDowell cooking a chicken pot pie in his restaurant's kitchen. Be he gives a little speech on how delicious and wholesome it is to Nathan Patrelli. Nathan gives a big speech on taking him down, he won't run this town anymore, yadda yadda yadda. And he just stands there, dejected, and says: "Well now you can't have any of my pot pie."

And he was in Class of 1999, which is technically a 1990 movie, but I remember my mum renting it for me on VHS when I was off sick from school, so that feels like a very 80s memory to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w-ph46XYWQ

Why do near-invincible beings like thanos wear armor in comic book movies? If you're basically a god, what are some pieces of metal going to do that you can't resist on your own?

Taking Thanos as your example, he looked infinitely cooler in the fight at the end of Endgame than he did in the fight at the end of Infinity War. Good enough reason for me.

Something similar is how nobody in superhero stories ever gets really injured, unless they have regenerating powers. Then they get put through the ringer of stabbed, shot, blown up, etc.

The actors, the plot, the background, the science, everything drives me up the wall like nails on a blackboard. It only me made sense when I found out it's Heart of Darkness IN SPACCCCCCEEEEEEE as a direct copy without taking into account YOU'RE IN SPACE IDIOT.

Turns it she was more powerful than his armor.
