My prediction is this: White Chain lands a single hit. SD says "enough!" because he has decided she should be his heir, BUT White Chain keeps fighting. Enraged that she would defy his command and dare to actually beat him, he loses his cool and obliterates her on the spot.

It's only then that he realizes that he just killed his sole qualified heir, and his empire gets to see him as just another bully who is obsessed with his own glory. The crowd starts to yell and turn against him, and that's about when the worms activate.
