randomly decided to listen to iced earth’s 2017 album incorruptible and it’s... pretty good? they’ve released so many garbage albums i had kinda written them off, but this is actually mostly solid material with a few great songs. Had no idea they had a track like seven headed whore in them

Tupac? Bob Marley? Christopher loving Lee?! Are you drunk, Spotify?

Anyway, The Ocean decided to release a single of their upcoming album. No biggie, just 13 minutes long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPMrwSwl8is

Love the brass stuff. That poo poo at 6:36 is some pretty neat understated drumming.

the first song off one of their more recent albums was basically a rewrite of the hyrule castle theme from legend of zelda link to the past

Is it possible to "feed" spotify"? I am going to jump ship from Google Music soon since they are going away at some unknown time and now I get popups to move to YouTube Music (gently caress no).

I already moved over my liked songs - is that enough? I've seen people here share playlists - does that help populate better things? I hate surface level poo poo and its why I moved from Apple Music and Spotify some years ago. Google Music didn't need much training.

Whoa dude. Christopher Lee is literally the most metal motherfucker to ever live. Was a soldier/spy and a legit badass. When filming LOTR, he got into it with Peter Jackson over Sauramon's death scene and actually said something like "Have you ever heard a man be stabbed, because I have".

He loved metal from the moment he heard it and was a fan til his death. He made a metal album when he was in his 80s. loving dude is awesome.

You’ll want to like songs, listen to songs, follow artists, and maybe make playlists? I do all of those things and my daily playlists, release radars, and discover weekly are usually pretty good, in that there are rarely things I don’t want on there. For discovering new music regularly though I still use recommendations from people I know and music blogs.

I recently jumped from Apple music to Spotify to improve the recommendations (which are 1000x better in spotify).

i used this site https://www.tunemymusic.com/

it took a playlist off itunes (which was all my liked/loved songs and songs downloaded for offline play), which then uploaded and converted to a spotify playlist.

and yeah both services using the same set of data, Spotify handed me 5-6 new artists that I immediately liked whereas I was lucky to get maybe 1 song a week out of apple musics weekly recommendations.

I know all that, but a) he's not releasing anything new for obvious reasons and b) wrong Christopher loving Lee. This one is a rapper. A bad one. I checked because maybe Christopher loving Lee came back as a Lich to start a death metal band but nope.

I use Tidal. Its pretty decent at suggestions, it'll generate 6 playlists of similar artists to whatever you're listening to. And I just played a punk rock cover song and its played about 20 other punk rock covers in a row after that, thought that was funny
