Makes me think of the Pitch/Roll/Yaw compensators on the Hughes Glomar Explorer

They had a gimbal platform for the pipe and then a heave compensation system that would lift the platform up and down in sync with the waves to hold the pipe steady since crashing your super-secret submarine retrieval platform into the ocean floor might ruin it.

Even if the ship is a total loss, they’ll need to positively verify the removal or destruction of every single piece of sensitive equipment on board before it can get scrapped. Letting it sink just makes that much harder and much more expensive.

When no one was looking, Serval took forty Japari buns. She took 40 buns. That's as many as four tens. And that's terrible.
Some guy on a shipping forum said it might have been bank effect that caused this.

Parking lot is closed for the night, guy gets out on ramp without using his parking break, car rolls down, smashes through the gate, rolls up an incline on the other side of the road, rolls backwards back into the gate, and gets stuck on the gate.

There are some channels that are narrow enough for wide ships they have to basically drive straight at each other and turn at the last moment because of bank effect and other forces at play. I'll see if I could find a video with an example.

In most garages there will be a sign nearby the exit in the plaza that gives you an "After Hours Call Number." You're supposed to call that number and then an on-call manager will come down and let you out for a huge fee. It's not very obvious. Usually it's printed on the sign with all the "terms and conditions for parking." Alternatively you can hit the Intercom button on the equipment and talk to a live human.

Whoever built that garage probably cheaped out on the electronic eye or loop sensor in the pavement that automatically raises the rolling door. Adding that sensor could have saved a bunch of damage plus the inevitable expense of closing that plaza because the door is broken.

Parking is a huge racket so I wouldn't be very surprised if the garage owner/operator decided against having that feature so people would have to hit the after-hours call number. That gives garage managers a way to charge a "cash-only price" for the fee.

Now he has to go get the other dude, but he gets lifted off the ground and doesn't make it through. If at first you don't succeed, try again with more gas.

Looks like he kicks female passenger out of the car, she tries to get back in, he takes off through the barrier. Realizes he's now trapped in parking garage, gets out to yell at the woman some more, then gets back in and floors it. Fails to stick the landing. Definitely drunk.
