If it's a decent mesh jacket with hard parts on the impact area it"s fine, just know you're gonna pick up a lot of incidental road rash if you go down.

My A* Viper Air still feels pretty warm in the summer. I guess it's not when you're moving, but I'll get stuck at lights and just start roasting.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is any kind of motorcycle-specific base layer under the jacket, I've just been wearing fairly thick cotton t-shirts tucked into my jeans and they don't seem to flow much air under the jacket. Is the polyester/spandex stuff any better for that?

I wear a synthetic wicking t-shirt when it's super hot and it feels better, yeah. Cotton sucks when its wet.

Under Armour HeatGear stuff is inexpensive and works just fine.

Four years ago my 690 Duke grenaded its engine on the Paris ring; two days ago the same happened to my 701, 5km from the previous spot. Long story short, no more motorcycle trip to the Pyrenees for me, back to Holland by train. I find Japanese bikes extremely boring and lame but I'm ready for one now.

Insurance will get it back to Holland and I have extended warranty, which is still good this year. 27000Kms, which is a lot for this type of bike (but of course not in general). My Duke grenaded itself at 15k, this bike never had anything major, but did have annoyances such as oil leaks and brake rotors warping.

My FE came with a small, but super irritating factory oil leak, from around the oil fill cap of all places, just enough to make the clutch cover gross and oily.

Since I have a tendency to like motorcycles based only on how they look and what they sound like and also never doing or planning on doing any of my own maintenance, I can say that the Benelli 752 looks and sounds so good that I don't care it's heavy and not as "MARIO 64 WAHOOO HERE WE GO" as the MT07 or SV650, I want one in green: The reviews seem to comparte it unfavorably against the MT 07, but I don't care much about weight or dragging pegs or wheelies, I want want a cruiser that sounds and looks good. It's got good hardware with Marzocchi forks and Brembo stuff so, How bad can it be? it's not "HERE WE GO IT'S SO LIGHT I LOVE THE MT07 I LIVE IN JOURNALIST LAND" and like Boris says: "weight is a sign of reliable, if it doesn't work you can always hit them with it". I wish more Benelli stuff was avaliable in America. Anyways... Glad I got that off my chest.

If you're going to buy a Chinese bike just buy an SSR or CSC and plan to sell it for scrap when it eventually self destructs. Don't pay extra for a formerly-Italian nameplate.

I wanted it to be as cool and exciting as it looked and if it was I might have considered even buying it, since the price was very good at the time. But I rode it and thankfully it was so not as cool or exciting as it looked at all. That said if you ride one and still love it and it's not going to be your only or main bike that you have to rely on to get you to work, and you can afford it, why not get one and indulge your deviant desires? Not entirely sure what this says about Ducati, who started off making electronics components and now make switching gear and transformers for power grids. It's actually really common, the only 100% bike manufacturers I can think of that's not two blokes in a shed are KTM and Triumph (and even they started off making cars) - Kawasaki make ships, Yamaha make musical instruments, Honda, Suzuki and BMW make cars, Piaggio and Agusta make planes and helicopters, etc etc - in almost all cases the bike bit of the company was someone working there just going "I need a cheap way to get to work, I'll make a scooter, hey maybe we can sell them"

Triumph also made cars once upon a time, and although they don't anymore they are now owned by BMW. Also in the course of checking this I found out they were founded by a German, which is beautifully ironic given they're one of the most well known British brands.
