Also I know you can argue everybody has a different opinion and everything, but it's actually literally impossible to think that Brodie Lee has worse booking than he did in WWE, because he had NO booking in WWE. They refused to work with him at all.

I mean, I think that Cage booking was iffy and that AEW seems to have sorta of dropped the ball on having plans for Archer after the Cody feud and that Omega in the tag division isn't the best use of resources for Kenny or the tag division. But the problem is acknowledging that yes, AEW does have booking flaws to folks like that is pointless because its a bad faith game. Its all a zero sum, team sports game for them.

It's a criticism that I think would hold more water if AEW were making these people look bad, or making other people look good at their expense. Instead it feels like the most valid criticism is that AEW have more top guys than top spots. Which is inevitable with only two hours of TV a week.

I think there's a real conversation we could have about AEW's booking strategy and if like their straight forward, wins and losses matter, short program approach is always the best idea. Because Cage is the second of 3 Moxley challengers who had a weird ending like that where its clear AEW wanted to protect the challenger from taking the pin. And then you look at Archer who took the pin and a lot of fans were upset and he's been a little directionless since. And then you got the flip side where like Cassidy takes a loss even when Jericho didn't really need protecting. Now I don't know exactly what I'm saying there or what "the solution" is. AEW is young and their booking approach is evolving and I think we've kind of reached a point where we can see that "looking good in a loss" isn't always enough for everyone and even AEW seems to recognize that but they don't always seem to have the right solution to the problem. I think we could debate on that a lot and have a lot of different ideas. But you can't have that conversation with people like the OP because they're just about proving that AEW is willfully damaging them or ruining everyone or the worst ever at everything! And like if Cage had won they'd just be saying AEW ruined Moxley.

"Kenny Omega is still in the tag team division" has to be one of the dumber arguments. Oh no one of the best wrestlers in the company is in a division that they explicitly want to rehabilitate and improve the image of. Like, I'd love for AEW to eventually be the Kenny Omega singles show but it would of sucked for it to have started as the Kenny Omega show.
