The Fangs of Summertime will always be my favorite, because that's when the comic started getting really good. https://www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=258 -Introduces Coyote, Ysengrin, Jones, Parley, Smitty -Lots of new lore -Limited scope, mostly happens in one room -Art was already much better than in the early chapters

Skywatcher and the Angel The Stone The Realm of the Dead/See Ya! Microsat 5/Divine Coyote Stories Skywatcher and the Angel just feels good to read. I love the robocult storyline, and using the skywatcher as the pov gives it a sense of awe that works really well. Same with the Stone. The way it goes back in time works extremely well as a finished product. The Realm of the Dead and See Ya! work well as complimentary perspectives on the RoTD. I think See Ya! is probably the prettiest chapter, and the contrast with Kat's perspective make it stand out even more. And of course Mort passing into the ether makes me teary every time I read it. Microsat 5 and Divine are another pair that I think belong together, but I don't really have a compelling argument other than the fact they both relate to Tony's zany adventure with bringing people back from the dead. Despite starting with a panic attack, Microsat 5 is cute and chill. It's got smooth moves, petty larceny, science rockets, and bonding time with Donny. Then in contrast Divine is vaguely unsettling for most of the chapter and has a nice exploration of Kat, Annie, and Zimmy's characters. Plus it has that page. And then Coyote Stories because Coyote is the best. Honorable mention goes to Red Gets a Name for the best page and The Breakout for being shitpost: the chapter. I cheated, sorry.

You know I think the only way to REALLY be sure which is the best chapter is to go read all of them over again.

I love these stories, but I'm sure nostalgia is a part of me liking Dobranoc, Gamma and most of all, A Ghost Story, especially this panel at the end. Surma's words to her daughter followed me through this entire journey. Annie (who I now wonder whether she was in part named for Surma's bestie) Kat, and there friends have had many adventures, but I always took "Remember I will never send you into danger" as words from Tom about the story he's telling, and I'll do so up until the point the tone changes and this isn't so, anymore.

The best chapter is still Residential. Two words: Laser Cows. Just like real cows! Only with lasers. And they're all named Elsie.

For me it's Fire Spike. The revelation of Annie's heritage and what it meant for her mother and means for herself, combined with the way that Ysengrin of all people finally helps her find a way to process it all just gets me right there, ya know?

Don't think I have a favorite chapter, but if I had to pick I'd go with maybe S1 or The Stone. I have favorite pages, though, like this one, and this one. And probably some favorite sequences, like this whole scene with Ysengrin (up to page 1581 basically). It's nice that this comic is still just as ridiculously good after so many years.
