They did okay during the Yom Kippur War. Been 50 years since then and there's no Soviet Union propping them up this time though. Also the consensus seems to be that Egyptian leadership is terrified of getting their asses kicked since military prowess is sort of the basis of their entire government's legitimacy, so my bet is that there probably won't be a real war.
