The replies in this are legit awful. It sucks, but the couple likely chose this because they already sent out save the dates before COVID shut downs, and now their venue won’t let them change dates without losing deposit but also must cut guest numbers in half. Meanwhile the replies are making GBS threads on them for trying to do their best and communicating with everyone the reality of the situation. I guess you can avoid telling people they’re group A, B or C, but if save the dates were already out and invitations already made, what can you really do?

Good lord, people get crazy about wedding invitations. The exact same thing is happening to a friend of mine. They sent out messages that were really clear: it's outside, social distancing enforced (or get kicked out), no kids, there will be spaces to camp. They were also really clear that they might just cancel the day before because PANDEMIC and all.

Isn't the standard thing to do a couple waves of invites? Like invite group A, let them RSVP, now you know how many spaces you have left, invite group B, etc. There's also something very funny to me about having three groups instead of two, when the instructions seem to be the same for B and C? They just want people to know where they are on the list I guess lol.
