Yeah there's a lot of negotiation involved in getting the streaming rights to a show and that usually doesn't get finalized until shortly before air. Outside of sequels, I've never seen anything announced more than a month in advance of the air date.

Been watching those old Black Jack ovas Osamu Dezaki directed over the past few weeks and hoo boy they get wild. Speaking of Dezaki, been watching Gamba no Bouken too, which is basically what Annnnndes Chuuuuckyyyy from Shirobako was referencing. Super cute and fun to watch, these mice get into a lot more rowdy fistfights than I was expecting. W the current season being so dead, it's been an opportune time to whittle down my backlog of stuff I've never been able to get thru before, namely From the New World and Aquarion Evol. The former, I just want to see where it goes, legit forgot it was 25+ eps. Evol is....hrmm, as of ep 14, it's starting to go somewhere finally. I don't really like the characters themselves so much as the entertaining bs they keep getting forced into. Their flowery dialogue when their robot transforms is usually the best part of a given episode.

tsukihime is a pretty rough vn in spots but i don't think i've ever felt an instance as hard of a vn making me really appreciate its doujin fg for how much it perfectly understands absolutely everything that made the vn cool, right down to having hisui and kohaku as a combined tag-team character

I got to the episode of Sailor Moon that the really good gif came from and I’m surprised that that wasn’t even the best gag since there’s that bizzare amazing one where a tiny pink cat just starts chewing on Naru’s tail.
