"the right of self governance" is kind of a paint-huffing doofus way to describe the CSA's purpose. When would African-Americans get in on some of that sweet self-governance? Would there be a second or third secession to restore a state's right to decide its sovereign legal status on slavery, or some kind of perpetual bizarro-KKK liberation insurgency? Guess that dude's fake outrage about the 3/5 compromise and the undeniable humanity of enslaved persons had a pretty short half-life.

I seriously doubt he understands that the south wanted slaves to count as 1 person and 0 votes, and the north thought that was bullshit that inflated the political power of the South. Same with the Electoral College - it was a way to boost their power, since the electoral college votes were dictated by the number of representatives, and they wanted the weight of slaves' population counted in their favor without actually allowing them to, y'know, be considered people (that could vote)
