People just like to rag on Tesla / Muskbot. They are a typical lovely company with an rear end in a top hat in charge that makes decent cars. Hell, ever been in a Ford lately? Built like poo poo and look like it to. Tesla is not unique. Most, if not all car companies, suck in some large way.

Tesla, for all intents, is to the car industry what Apple is to the tech industry. It's high end, pretentious, fancy, over-engineered poo poo for conspicuous consumers that have a priority in accessorizing before the concerns of function. edit: to actually have something OSHA related, as I assume I am contributing to a derail that's going to get a mod in here soon yelling at everyone to lay the gently caress off it, OSHA press releases are a wonderful insight into why we absolutely need regulation in the industry: https://www.osha.gov/news/newsreleases/region2/07302020 5er fucked around with this message at 18:04 on Aug 1, 2020 |

Tesla did a good job at pushing the battery industry to a new level, which is a good thing as now we have lots of high powered electronics...but all the personality poo poo with Musk is a different problem.

Tesla is still ahead of everyone else when it comes to range efficiency, which seems to be the main electric car benchmark anyone cares about. The Koreans aren’t far behind, as is GM. Of course, those companies can all build cars where the rear seats are attached and they don’t hide their recalls and warranty costs, which is why even though they build tens of millions of vehicles each year neither are worth as much as a company that struggles to build 350k cars a year.

Hey, you guys all remember the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park in Texas? How it got closed down in 2007? Well, I finally managed to track down the final incident report, its an interesting read, but like a lot of these things it all comes down to human negligence. Its not quiiiite OSHA, but its close. Yes I know its not real, but its cool nonetheless.

lol at defending tesla https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PWlkAZCojg the shits been run into the ground by musk, and so long as he's at the helm the quality and safety will be run into the ground. elon made them get rid of the yellow safety markers on the factory floor because he was in such an ceo-only super-adderall binge that he didnt like the color

I have two thoughts about Teslas: 1. They look like melted Porsches. 2. They are usually driven by terrible drivers. Like "go the speed limit in the fast lane" and "don't check the rearview mirror before lane changes" bad.

Okay, the best I can come up with is that the radiator is cracked so engine-guy is holding a bag of water to effectively let the radiator run as a total-loss system. I tried pausing it to see if there was a hose from the bag to the radiator but the resolution isn't good enough for me to tell if there is one. I mean I guess it could be fuel, too, but that's harder for me to picture.

The arm is on the opposite side of the pivot axis from the heavy engine (by design), so if you get it up without tipping over you're not going to tip over by spinning around.
