I'm disappointed that they didn't keep that design for the MCU. It was the very first feature-length marvel movie, and it was made by the star wars man! Show some loving respect

Yeah, the new design, in movie and comic, just makes him look like a canary. It's too....cutesy. Howard is not to be cutesy.
He is supposed to be pissed off, crabby, and constantly on the verge of a mental breakdown.

The Spiderman one doesn't count, it was just an episode of the TV show repackaged for a theatrical release in Australia.

And I've never heard of that Dr. Strange one but looking at the poster I'm pretty sure it's porn

Before the movie Howard the Duck was that weirdo comic that kept breaking the fourth wall, had LSD-trip style stories and was in fact, very cool and funny.

Then the Disney lawsuit made Howard look and act stupid, and the movie killed off that franchise for good.

(I know about the recent cameos in the Marvel movies, shame that they went with the post-lawsuit look.)

Haha, I have that book. The dialogue is rather hilarious and the attempt to translate David Hayter's brooding melodramatic portrayal of Snake to text makes it read more like a fanfic than a novelization. I still enjoyed it but not because of the quality of writing.

I did a thread where I read all the original James Bond books and it turns out the literary Bond was intentionally written as an alcoholic dumbass with no particular skills except violence who's a lot closer to Sterling Archer than Roger Moore.
