I know this was a throwaway line, but Billy Graham is actually a "fake christian" when viewed by QAnon, who are primarily fundamentalist christian (or at least he apocalyptic ones are).

Billy Graham and Martin Luther King Jr. in Baptist/Fundamenalist circles, and really anyone on board with the "New American Evangelical" or 'big test christian movement' is seen as apostates to the "true" religion.

While it doesn't mention QAnon there is a good video that describes the issue starting from a sermon in the 1920s here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGJU8G1CnxU

Again, while not mentioning QAnon directly, this video explains how "deep state evangelicals" are destroying America - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVznaQ6dNiw

Note to anyone who hasn't seen this one yet: this is a good and informative video until about 15 minutes in, where the guy goes super preachy and fundamentalist. It's fascinating until that point, but he lost me when he started talking about 'theological infidels' and other such conspiraboomer poo poo. Still, it's a really good insight into the fundamentalist mindset, and it's worth watching because of that.

Thank you, that first video was an engaging and educational short lecture, I recommend it to anyone who feels a little unsteady about the differences between the mainstream Christian denominations in America even if you don't think you care. (Like Venomous said, you'll spot a point where it veers into something else.)

So it seems to me that QAnon could be considered a cool, hip entree to fundamentalism. You dip your toes in with QAnon's Hollywood-mystical overlay and once you're habituated to that, virgin birth and the second coming etc. are essentially QAnon retro, cool in their own way, 8-bit old-school purity.

And they wouldn't have started their operation on the child porn webforum run by sexpat serial killers living in the phillipines.

No, the people who started Q were real, in that they were real pieces of poo poo and real losers posting from suburban houses, rather than office buildings. If they got any purchase in the minds of the maga, they made posting Fun, a community to behave as psychotically as they want and desire. The most intel communities can do is signal boost them to be used as useful idiots that can be directed against their shared enemies.

I think this is likely the main thrust of it, the intel group isn't starting it from the ground up. They're managing and nurturing nascent movements and encouraging them to go in the direction most politically helpful for them. That's also not good.

There is something to be said for being intentionally sloppy in a way that will filter out people who think carefully and that will prevent too much rigorous attention from journalists or academics, like how those Nigerian prince emails contain intentionally poor grammar. I don't think that's the case here because the CIA is kind of bad at doing things like that competently and because it's really hard to fake the specific kind of sloppiness and bad thinking that you get in groups like Q.

There was nothing to lose. The first Q drops came the day after Mueller brought charges to Manafort and Gates. Stone's mates. It didn't matter, they just wanted to create as much energy as possible. These characters cost nothing. So they pulled out FBIanon with a cool new name and slightly different story. When the days passed and deadlines came and went and they still had people believing it, they probably said "huh", and tried to see how far they can take it. Now it's adapting to everything and mutating and spreading like a virus and infecting the world, creating this alternative narrative, which is their explicit objective. We're watching a robot run through the streets with a brain washing gun, getting people to spout their exact propaganda, and these guys are standing there with the brochure and a quote. To be clear, that proposal was for delegate wrangling at the convention. But of course that is not its only application. And tell me a company that uses code names like "Lion" for Trump wouldn't also produce some of the language we see in Q.

And technically it was 4Chan at that point, owned by Hiroyuki Nishimura. But if child porn webforum run by sexpat serial killers living in the phillipines is where you could create something like this, then that is exactly where they would go.

That's the objective with things like "save the children". Any sane person hears that and thinks "of course!" Once you dig deeper and see "pizza sex cult demons" you realize it's lunacy and leave. The problem is people with subpar reasoning skills don't leave. They go "well if children are being hurt, I better investigate..."

I think you're giving them a bit too much credit there. They start from a position of "people who I disagree with politically (or in any other capacity) are literally demonic, subhuman monsters" and just absolutely eat up anything which might confirm those prejudices without the slightest concern about whether any of it is actually true. It all makes me think of that very slick cartoon that ended up on youtube around the time of the 2008 crash that pushed goldbug anti-Rothschild ideas after starting out with a sensible restatement of people's frustrations and fears. At the time, I thought it was too good-looking and written too well to be the work of just some libertarian antisemite doing it alone, but I could never find out who actually made the thing. It was pre-alt-right but definitely feeding into the same feelings that would eventually start getting people shepherded there. Does anyone remember it?

Instead, I watched that Spirit Science video, where some Extra Credits-looking and -sounding guys explained how ancient Jews migrated to Atlantis from Mars by using the Lucifer experiment, and we can all unlock our latent superpowers by realizing we all have 5th dimensional force fields surrounding us. E: Feels fairly easy. The kids are collected then held underground until they're sold for sex or taken to Hilaries andrenochrome factories etc etc

E2: Honestly with ten seconds thought it seems like you could just paint ICE as the agency charged with the collecting the children that fuels everything they want to believe in. I'm honestly still not sure where the 8 million or so missing children are meant to have come from other than "every reported missing kid in the US ever".
