What if I told you that the three branches of the US government we were taught in school were a lie? That actual power is held by a secretive deep state that maintained its power regardless of election results and the shifting of political winds?

What if I told you that untold numbers of children were being trafficked under the auspices of an international cabal of Satan worshiping elites? And among their number was every mainstream politician and celebrity you've ever heard of? And that these members were so brazen as to constantly signal their allegiance in public using coded messaging?

And what if I told you that Donald Trump was the lone righteous man in Gomorrah?

That's right fellow Patriots, its time to discuss #QAnon.

So, what the hell is #QAnon?

It's the online Right's newest obsession, and a convenient way to explain away the fact that, despite their party controlling all 3 branches of the government and their dream president being in power, their political rivals still exist and the world hasn't been transformed the way they expected. It is also, in many ways, the continuation of the PizzaGate phenomenon.

Basically, late last year 4chan started receiving cryptic messages from a person calling themselves Q, a reference to Q level security clearance. Supposedly these messages originated from a high level insider of the Trump admin and offered clues to an upcoming purge of the Deep State. Said purge is often referred to as "The Storm" - a reference to Trump's line about "the calm before the storm" made in a speech. You can take a look at some of these posts yourself and see if you can decipher anything from them. These clues are referred to as breadcrumbs a lot of places online, but I refer to think of them as Q Tips.

I recommend reading this excellent article: http://nymag.com/selectall/2017/12/qanon-4chan-the-storm-conspiracy-explained.html It explains things much better than I ever could.

And this article (written by a Rothschild :tinfoil: no less), details QAnon's relationship with older crazy online conspiracy theories, specifically the cult of NESARA: https://www.dailydot.com/layer8/qanon-the-storm/

More than a few goons have requested a thread on this subject be made and quite frankly I'm just as curious as them to learn more about this stuff.

Okay, so what are some of the key claims of this Q person?

One of the problems I had trying to sort this out is that Q posts are deliberately vague and are subject to different interpretations by Q whisperers. Also there's loving hundreds of them and I ain't got time for that. But here are some things I've seen posted on 4chan, Twitter and Freep:

- There are thousands of sealed indictments working their way through the DC Courts system. The Inspector General is conducting an investigation into the Deep State and its pedophile masters. When it is released, Hillary, Obama, most Democrats, all the Hollyweird jerks, George Soros and basically anyone else the alt right doesn't like is going to be arrested and sent to Guantanamo Bay, which is being retrofitted to fit a large increase of prisoners.
- Trump tricked the Deep State into appointing Mueller to investigate the fake Russian scandal, giving Mueller (who is a secret Trump ally) cover to aid the REAL investigation into the Deep State.
- The Deep State is in deep panic mode and has been retaliating every way it can. Multiple false flag attacks, including Parkland and the Austin Bombing have been carried out as part of their secret war. Vegas was an op gone wrong(?).
- DNC Staffer Seth Rich leaked Hillary's e-mails to Wikileaks and was murdered on the order of John Podesta.
- The Saudi crown prince is a secret Trump ally, locking up his corrupt globalist family members and introducing reforms designed to move the nation away from Islam.
- Anthony Weiner's laptop, which was investigated by the FBI, contained a secret video of HRC doing something so vile it made veteran agents sick. The implication is that it was kiddy gore stuff.

And that's just off the top of my head. This poo poo is insane. It's best to think of this as basically being an entire counter mythology of American politics. And like in mythology, the prophecies of the seer are obscured and everyone has their own, slightly incongruous version of the folklore, one that freely intermingles with whatever other legends they already believe in. For those of you who buy into Prester Jane's theories, this should all seem pretty familiar.

But why should I care? Isn't this just another weird 4chan thing?

Because weird /pol/ poo poo is upriver from mainstream conservatism in the age of Trump. #QAnon Conspiracy resonates with the right because it both soothes the lingering doubts they have about Trump's inability to accomplish anything and echos the Manichaean worldview they believe in. Again, to put it into Narrativist Theory terms, it is a collective play acting of the Inner Narrative, making it feel real. Just search #QAnon, #GreatAwakening, #TrustThePlan, or any of their other hashtags and you can see the alternate reality being crafted in real time. And known CHUD and TV Weird Sean Hannity is a known believer in this nonsense, and I'm willing to bet some of the nuttier GOP politicians do too. But mostly this is another avenue to explore the American right's creeping madness, which is honestly a D&D Goon's favorite reading material.

Among the points of QAnon chatter in the last couple days has been "crumbs" that supposedly indicate that rolling over like a bitch and signing the Omnibus Bill is part of Trump's 43rd Dimensional Chess. Apparently the idea is that since it's not really a *budget* but more a list of recommendations, Trump is free to spend the money however the heck he wants and defund Planned Parenthood and the NEA, and most importantly build the Wall.

Amongst the QAnon gobbledygook of 24 March is some mention of "Green Castle Red Castle" which the fans are interpreting as a reference to the logo of the Army Corps of Engineers, and extrapolating to mean that Trump will take some of the billions allotted to the military and just task the ACE to build the wall itself, brilliantly side-stepping the Omnibus' explicit prohibitions on building the wall.

QAnon is pretty much a modern day Nostradamus, in that he can just say whatever and literally thousands of people will attempt to interpret his words in hindsight to apply to whatever later events occur, and insist that he has accurately foretold the future.

There are so many funny things about it. Like the fact that the prince has bumbled literally every power move he's made since coming into power and the Saudi's are being embarrassed left and right every time they try to do something to check Iran's growing influence, alienating their own allies and being made to look like complete paper tiger incompetents on top of being horrific war criminals on the battlefield. Or the fact that those people he locked up were a list of political enemies that Kushner gave him based on US intel, and he only locked them up long enough to consolidate his power before letting them back out to go right back to globalizing. Or that this stalwart ally literally had to beg Congress not to withdraw their support from Yemen a couple weeks ago because even his starvation tactics are only barely keeping his absurdly expensive army from being blown out of the water with us holding his hand. Or that his "reforms," to "move the country away from Islam," are still leaving the country more oppressive and theocratic than almost any other Muslim majority nation on the planet.

There's one roulade I can't sing
It reminds me of Kyoon and his cryptic prophecy bullshit. But instead of just pointing and laughing people seem to be embracing it.

I guess it's the whole 'lock her up' phenomena continuing on - we can all see quite clearly that she has not been locked up and is not getting locked up, so why not construct an elaborate fantasy where the locking up is imminent...less bruising to the ego than to admit that Trump is an idiot who can't accomplish poo poo and lied his way to the presidency.

I'm following this thread with great interest because my mother-in-law is deeply into this stuff. She has always been a conspiracy theorist obsessed with new world order/weather control/anti-vaxxer nonsense, with many of her conspiracies going back to the 60s and 70s. Hers are mixed with a peculiar kind of end-times Sedivacantist Catholicism and filtered through the worldview of being an elderly Korean lady.

For years I've been listening to her talk about how the globalists are going to crash the world economy any moment now and how Obama is setting up concentration camps (with gillotines!) to carry out mass depopulation. The "why" has always been vague to me. The globalists are doing this because they are greedy and want the whole world to themselves and also just because they are Evil and controlled by Satan. China is usually involved (they do the weather control, if course).

Russia used to be part of the globalist conspiracy but it's been interesting to watch that change over the past year or so. She is a big believer in Fatima and has been waiting for the Consecration of Russia for literally her whole life, but is slowly coming around to the idea that Putin is on the side of goodness. Because of the religious bent she brings to the story she believes that Putin is secretly working to reconcile the Russian Orthodox Church with the Catholic Church to form one extra holy church. The globalists are working hard to thwart it though!

My MIL is not a 4chan reader or even a Freeper so she gets her Qanon news filtered through random conspiracy blogs. I realized a few visits ago that I was starting to see the Qanon flavor come out in the printouts from those blogs she gives us every time we come over. Next time I visit I will bring the thread some of those materials, they are really something.

The fantasy focus on punishing the evil Hilary is a huge part of this. Hilary is the personification of all of the new world order's wickedness to them. It's a bit disturbing to hear this tiny elderly Korean lady, surrounded by saint statues and crucifixes, work herself into an angry froth about Hilary's many crimes including child murder and cannibalism. Like how does Hilary even have time to get to all of this? (Spoiler alert: she is a literal witch of course!)

Q is an absolute comedy goldmine. Every part of it is a different flavour of incredible bullshit, and the fact that anyone takes it seriously just makes it that much funnier. A few fun facts about Q-

-High-level intelligence officer Q had to change his 4chan tripcode because someone cracked his password. It was Matlock. (the capital M makes it top-level secure)
-Q's followers believe that he has to be vague and Nostradamusy and not mention specific names so that his posts - which, mind you, are all posted in the same place under the same name with the same highly identifiable character string attached - won't get filtered/intercepted/detected by the Deep State.
-There's a significant minority of Q followers that thinks he is actually Donald Trump posting under an assumed name, because he sometimes ends his posts with 4-10-20 (DJT).
-Their hatred for McCain (who they literally call "we don't say his name") is second only to their hatred for Hillary.
-Q likes to list names of movies and fairy tales at the end of many of his posts. He REALLY seems to like Godfather 3 and Hunt for Red October.
-If you read through the Q posts from beginning to end it becomes extremely clear that it's not the same person all the way though. The writing style goes through a complete shift and new Q sounds nothing like old Q.

One of my favourite styles of Q posts is the "super sekrit activation code" where he uses whatever the chan board of the moment is to send the GO CODE to some operatives somewhere. Here's the GO CODE OORAH for when they absolutely definitely arrested Obama in the Philippines.

Now check out this one. It's obvious what's going on here, right?

That's right, this is obviously a GO CODE for an operation to arrest some of the Rothschilds at their English country estate. This was cleverly disguised as a guy doing a helicopter training lesson, but was foiled when operatives of the Deep State kamikazed a Cessna into the helicopter: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5100095/Pictured-Vietnamese-pilot-32-killed-crash.html

Why? Because Green was the name of the helicopter instructor, and Q used the word "green" in the post.

My favorite part about the whole QAnon nonsense is that there are so many interpretations of the vague posts that they are never "wrong". Every major interrupted prediction they care about doesn't come to fruition. They just retcon them out of the whole narrative or decide they happened, but are being hidden from us. This is why in their narrative Hillary and Obama are both on some kind of super secret government ankle monitor house arrest thing. It was all a backpedal to get around some arrest/indictment prediction weeks/months ago that never came true.

It helps that a lot of the predictions aren't really directly made by Q. He almost always just drops various hints and lets /pol/ grind away. The closest he gets to confirmation is quoting someone's speculation post and adding "!!!"

Yeah, though weirdly I don't think Q has ever actually used the phrase "white rabbit." But he often ends posts with titles of movies, fairy tales, etc. One of his more common sign-off lines early on was "Alice & Wonderland." Similarly he liked to say "Command and Chief" or "Commander and Chief," instead of "Commander in Chief." Very obviously a well-informed insider.

But why the "green castle" you might ask? Some Redditor did some digging and turned up that the ACE has an office in Greencastle, Indiana. Part of me wants to say "they can't spend the next three years expecting Hillary's going to be indicted ANY MINUTE NOW" but I'm not at all sure that's true. In total fairness, we've been waiting for Trump to get impeached for like a year now, but I think the fact that DOJ is actually charging Flynn, Gates, and Manafort and whatnot puts us much more in the realm of sanity.

Nah they were always like this. Theories as all-encompassing as the Q conspiracy theory are always about how the final battle between good and evil is just around the corner, and we're always on the edge of either damnation or salvation. The Freemasons toppled the French monarchy, and all of Christendom is next! Jade Helm is the start of the NWO takeover! Ebola is the pretext they're finally going to use to shuffle us all off to the FEMA camps! Etc.

It's been happening less lately because my wife has lost her patience for this nonsense and has started arguing about it hardcore with her when she brings those papers out. I'm a bit sad because I like hearing about the latest conspiracies although it is a bit exhausting.

Q's moved to 8chan these days, but chan boards have a "tripcode" system that works kind of like a password. When you submit a post you can include a password that gets hashed into a code that appears above your posts as a sort of unique signature. Q has a tripcode that he posts under, which has changed a couple of times (like when someone figured out his password was Matlock). In this image it's !TPb.qbhqo.

Psychologically, this whole situation reminds me a lot of the aftermath of Great Disappointment. Although the stakes aren't nearly as high in this instance, the thought process of the group is the same - a major prediction is made, followers hype themselves up for it, and when the chosen date blows past with no major event, the True Believers justify it rather than admit that they were wrong.

Remember Trump's "fake news awards" a few months back? Qanon followers, particularly on Freep, were convinced that Trump would use that event to finally pull back the curtain and reveal that Hillary, Obama, Soros, et al were arrested and being tried for their satanic pedophile cannibalism. Some even said that they would be executed live on television, and that afterwards Trump would order the military to begin the Glorious MAGA Revolution. Of course, the fake news awards went over like a wet fart, so rather than admit that they were wrong, these followers shifted the narrative - the fake news awards were a smokescreen, you see, in order to trick all of the lamestream news media into paying attention to it. While they were distracted, Trump went after key members of the Deep State and ordered their arrest! He will reveal this to us any day now! We were mostly right! And thus the cycle continues.

(Yes, I'm directly comparing Qanon followers to the Seventh Day Adventists, fight me.)

See the funny bit is that this isn't even weird, at least, not the idea of secret intelligence agencies posting poo poo on 4chan to signal operatives. That's just a numbers station for the modern age. Though I think perhaps they wouldn't look like random bits of javascript. Generally you would use a one time pad so the message should be entirely unintelligible without the key, and not be a series of vague allusions numerology style.

I'm happy this has its own thread now; a rather large conspiracy theory running non-stop over a year with constant new material which is believed by many media and political types is a good thing to understand, keep track of and mock unrelentingly.

People kept asking for it? It comes up a lot in the RWM Thread and the Freep thread but isn't really on topic for either.

op, explain why we need ANOTHER thread cross-posting delusional right-wing nonsense and i'll take my finger off the gas button.

We've discussed it several times in the FReep thread. Since this doesn't really belong there or the RW media thread, this seems like a logical place...

e:f,b repeatedly. Forgot to refresh the thread.
