Release of prisoners, is probably 2 things: 1. The pre-trial holding facilities were physically incapable of holding any more people, you've seen tweets about 30 people in one cell. 2. Factory workers getting pissed together with well, everyone, because regardless of political views after this week long atrocity, everyone knows someone who got hurt or own family member got hurt. Especially in smaller town like Zhodino which is incidentally home to both Belaz factory and one of the torture prisons. Mayor of Zhodino actually went to talk to the crowd and Zhodino top cop actually apologized but sadly dialogue didn't happen, he seems to genuenly don't understand what the problem is or blame everything on fireign provocators. It seems most of the beaurocracy haven't seen any footage or photos and don't want/dare not go to Nexta or any such channels. It is interesting who of government functionaries resigned. 1. Cops who get to witness everything first hand, while respect to them but they are only 2 people 2. Journalists who get to also witness stuff or work with footage There are also 2 presidential admin members, not sure, maybe someone close to them got beaten

Why do people think that Russian army would easily defeat Belarus.If anything empirical evidence from past show, that it is not case. Belarus army is maybe not most elite force on world but surely is reasonably competent. Last time Russia attacked Ukraine, it was defended by demoralized armed forces which were two and half decade in free fall. Yes, they managed takeover Crimea, and parts Donetsk / Luhanks. But once Ukraine and its army get his poo poo together it was clear that Putin "we can take Kiev in two weeks" was bullshit. I mean surely. If Russia start regular war - mobilize reserves, conscript people and so on it will defeat Belarusian army. But even then it has to prepare to be occupation force, and more likely that not it will break Russia economy (what is left of it).

If russia were to continue to cause insurrection in Ukraine the dniper would become the new border, However with Belarus under absolute control the dniper is a non-issue for any future conflicts. Remember we're not talking about a conflict today, or tomorrow, or this year. The pieces are being placed for the next grand war of mobility. When will that happen? Unknown.
