Day 7 on the snow this year. Have significantly improved my speed riding and the fresh snow today gave me a chance to practice riding in powder. Not as deep as japan or Canada by any stretch but it made it a lot easier to get familiar with how differentlyy board and my body respond to the powder as opposed to hard pack.

Currently one of two blokes staying in a chalet with 6 women and the other blokes married so I am giving it a red hot crack tonight when we all go to the bowlo later.

Congrats lolie! Glad you can still poo poo post with us.

Ohhh nice! I'm of the same opinion as yourself, not big on apartments, but congrats to them. The market is hard enough to get into as it is and they've managed to buy and sell during a pandemic and something of a slowdown!

Decided to dig my other guitar out of storage. This one the ex wife bought for me about 8 years ago. Mostly untouched, which is a mixed blessing because it's mint and the lovely practice amp I briefly ran it on had no business being anywhere near it. It's absolutely hilarious how light the string action feels compared to my acoustic. Hopefully my amp will come through soon so I can see what it sounds like when not trying to push noise through a straw. Anyway Epiphone Les Paul Custom. Ebony fretboard. Weighs a ton.

I am selling two amps at the moment if you need one. (Syd)

ANYWAY

I have finished the Jazzmaster revamp, and it helped me learn a lot! I definitely made some rookie errors in some ways but managed some pro poo poo elsewhere, so it ain't half bad.

Definitely need some nitro finish tho, nowhere around here seems to have it.

I've already got one on order but thanks (also I'm not in NSW and shipping would likely be a bitch).

I bought some nitro paint/clear coat from these guys in NSW. Haven't arrived yet so I can't give you a review, I'm just letting you know they exist:

The second guitar I bought was almost identical,it was a Les Paul studio rather than custom. Probably gonna buy a new one at some point seeing as mine has loving disappeared

i cleaned all the finger goo off my telecaster yesterday and I'm ashamed because it looks way cleaner than I expected, the thing must have been a hive of deadly bacteria. I also got rid of most of the crackling in the jack with some rubbing alcohol. I could probably do it again and fix it completely.

I know a les paul would make my bad back even worse

Doing some math to become acquainted with my new slide rule

I was able to, with instruction from the manual, do the classic

"You are near a tree that is × meters tall, you look up at an angle of theta, how far away are you"

And it totally works as a calculation device

There is absolutely a knack to it I do not possess yet but it is fun to do math on and learn this knack intuitively

I have capsicums and tomatoes which unexpectedly survived over winter. Not sure whether to keep them or pull them out and plant new ones.

Yeah I remember these guys, would be about 10 mins from my place if the rent prices in Sydney didn't push them out, now they're a few hundred k down the coast...

Jeez there was about 6-7 guitar shops of that stretch of Parra Rd at one point, now there's two.

McSpergin
Sep 10, 2013

Every so often you find one good estate agent who's genuinely interested in property, usually they're a bit smarter than the rest and are naturally suited to the job. A lot of them get in it because there's not much else they'd be any use at and real estate pays those sort of people well

Honestly we could manage buying selling and renting ourselves tbh

There''s a thread on reddit called "What's the worst town in Australia you ever visited?" and it's pretty good:

https://www.reddit.com/r/australia/comments/iavvcs/whats_the_worst_town_in_australia_you_ever_visited/

quote:

Ungarie – I don’t know what the point of this town is. I visited a husband and wife to inspect their house and found out they were first cousins. Make of that what you will

quote:

Boree Cree – An hour south-west of Wagga Wagga. I couldn’t get mobile phone reception and had to use the home phone of a guy who made wind chimes out of animal skulls. His house appeared to have load bearing walls made of boxes of porno mags.

quote:

Moura, Queensland.

I was a young driller working out in Theodore. One day driving through Moura to get home the crew was a little hungover, stopped in at the bakery. They microwaved all our pies, and the guy just had to stick his greasy finger's in my pie to see if it was warm. I promptly threw it in the bin outside and went hungry.

A few years later living abroad in Canada I met a local of Moura (small world) and she told me they were raided and the cops found a huge meth lab behind the bakery.

quote:

Dunt, South Australia

quote:

Mt Morgan.

The town is full of dole budging druggies. The only bus that goes to Rockhampton leaves the town at 7am, which means it gets to Rockhampton too late for anyone to go to work, so they use that as an excuse not to look for work.
